It had been a week since school started and I'd already done nearly the first half a month's worth of the assigned work, along with a quiz, and a test.
So naturally I had a day of not worrying about work since I'd managed to do so much in such a short period of time. As a result of this though I ended up with my friends begging for me to go out that night though I wasn't sure if I could.
I'd been spending most of the day watching useless videos on YouTube for nothing more then entertainment while waiting for an email from Williamsburg telling me that my information had been transferred like it was supposed to be.
Thornbrook required it and if it wasn't sent soon, I wouldn't be getting to actually attend the school from October on like it had been planned. That would also backfire on me because I was only supposed to have the first month taught to me for schooling the rest would be done at Thornbrook Academy.
That would also mean that I would have to push the matter more and I didn't want to come across as pushy but I may have to soon if it didn't happen within the coming week.
Eventually as I got to the end of a gaming video my Email popped up in the corner and I opened it to find a response from Thornbrook.
To Olivia Thorne
We have received the information that your previous school Williamsburg Preparatory has sent us along with your record at the school. Our own background checks have been done and completed as with all students, and you are cleared to attend our school without further delay come October 1st.
With that said you will have to adhere to the rules and conditions you were sent earlier in the summer about what our school expects from those who attend our school so should you break said rules action will be taken. This will also go for any behaviour that the school deems inappropriate.
Thornbrook Academy also acknowledges that the students who attend our school have history of wealth and many of them are sons and daughters of politicians, business magnates, and powerful figures from around the world. So, the scholarship group of our school may feel pressured or be fearful of them, and be sure that all students are treated equally. The rare exception is situational rather then socio-economic in origin.
I hope to see you in the halls of our school
Principal W. Tollemer
The school's logo was plastered to the bottom of the email, along with a separate link that brought me to the website of the school.
I'd admit they put in effort to make this all seem very welcoming but I had a feeling that the reality of the power that was implemented on wealthier students was limited because of the power their families held.
Not long ago I'd found an article about the four wealthiest families in New York City, it never named them based on a secrecy agreement but it stated how these families had stayed secret from the public while still maintaining a well-known presence in society. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find said families ruled the halls of Thornbrook, and they all exploited it whenever they could.
I had spent more time on the Thornbrook clubs page where I found a page titled the Scholarships, and for the most part it was those who couldn't afford to fit the list of typical requirements trying to fit in with those of a higher wealth and status.
The school mocked them and I knew it just for being normal the base income for each parent had to meet or exceed three million dollars.
The kids at that school lived the life of the one percent and everyone knew it so having scholarship students secluded to the corner of the school lot seemed rather cruel.
