I really shouldn't be going to another party this. I knew what had happened when I went before this often, I knew that there was only bad habits and deceptions at these. I simply knew better, and truth be told I didn't want to go because there was bound to be something that I really didn't want to have to deal with. But I chose to be friends with the muska-idiots and I would live with it if they were there along with Nico.

Sitting in traffic I had apparently found myself behind everyone going to the party tonight.

And fuck me they drove slow.

Reaching the street I took the rather tight space between two other vehicles and forced myself out of the driver's seat of my Ferrari. I prepped myself for the typical degeneracy of these parties.

"Adrian!" Hunter calls and I let out a long sigh before moving towards him one of my newer leather jackets tossed over my arm as I considered the woody haired boy leaning in the doorway, a solo cup already in his hand and another that he handed to me as I stepped inside.

"You know I'm not drinking right," I say, glancing at him and then down at the contents of the cup I now held.

"Yeah, that's soda," he says before following me through the house which clearly spanned up several floors and was somehow not at all divided. Groups of attendees were nearly everywhere doing god only knew what with one another, even if I was already able to smell the mix of liquor, and the undercurrents of addicts here to participate in their drug of choice.

"Whose house is this?" I ask looking around trying to spot any sign of personal decoration in the overwhelmingly white house.

Feels incomplete.

"Some senior's everyone is here from the typical parties because it's in a house big enough to hold the five hundred or so people who will be here," Hunter says, downing his cup before glancing briefly at a pair of redheads walking by in short party dresses.

Exhibit A of why I fucking hate these.

"Quite staring at Junior's asses, where is Nico and Riley?" I ask before spotting the top of Sav's head in the crowd straight silver blonde hair now curled, tonight's dress being a satin rose gold bodycon number I'd not have expected her to own let alone wear—then there was the group of four guys she was talking and openly laughing with, her hand on one of their arms.

"What the fuck, is that?" I mutter mostly to myself though Hunter followed my gaze.

"Appears to be your girlfriend, wearing a very short dress, talking to a group of guys," he says before meeting my eyes while some small piece of my soul coiled itself into a ball and promptly withered. The other part—my heart the silver thing it was reminded me that if my girlfriend wanted to be confident in a mini dress, then all the power to her.

"Her choice, won't promise my self respect won't leave the room though," I mutter and soon spotted Riley with Ava and Mia by his side collecting glasses and a bottle of champagne I recognized from the Harrington's house and was brought out for us kids on Christmas so that we could have a 'drink' with the adults.

"Come on Ambrose, I found them," I say wandering towards the back lounge where I found Nico lighting a fire in the hearth and the other the non-alcoholic champagne into glasses.

"Do I want to know where you got these glasses?" I ask taking the corner most chair of the room near the doors while Mia and Ava took their chosen glasses.

"We found them in the dining room, and I don't trust solo cups to be left places," Mia says while Nico just plucked his glass in passing and settled on the chair next to mine.
