Pulling away from the curb I turned up the music once again and sped off towards One57. I drove a lot faster than most people were comfortable with but that also meant I got to places quicker then was legal.
Getting to the pretentiously named Billionaire's Row I spotted the three distinct vehicles of my friends before pulling down to the garage and using my card to get into the private garage I had for myself. It was fair to say that the garage space had changed once I got near to having my license there now was ten sports cars lined up in the spaces provided though the garage could accommodate twice that, I just didn't have the need or reason to fill the other half which had been the case in many parts of my life.
Parking the Aventador in the middle of the garage since it was a recent acquisition and in time, I intended to put it in Brooklyn Heights townhouse when I moved in hopefully upon getting back from Christmas Break.
Sliding out of the car I locked it and walked to the elevator before stepping inside to be carried up to the very top floor where my penthouse would be occupied by my friends, thanks to the three of them being on the immediate entry list—two of which needed to be removed for the sake of my sanity.
When the elevator stopped and the doors opened, I walked in to find Riley and Hunter having a pillow fight while Nico lay on my couch on his phone Mia was in the kitchen mixing some form of the mango puree juice I had bought in with several other containers to make a smoothie.
"Adrian," Hunter greets with a smile before getting nailed in the back of the head by Riley.
How the fuck did I befriend these idiots.
"What the fuck are you two doing?" I sigh shaking my head as the fight continued.
"They've been at it for ten minutes, they're like animals eventually they will be tired," Nico remarks not so much as looking up from one of the books I kept in the living room.
"Wouldn't surprise me," I mutter before a pillow flew across the room and I effortlessly caught it, before turning slowly to face who'd thrown it.
"Oh, come on," Hunter groans looking deflated.
"You're going to have to try harder then that," I then toss it onto the couch and go into the kitchen and retrieve the lychee juice I owned and poured myself a glass.
"How are you not out a window?" I hear Riley whisper.
He wasn't being loud, I've gotten used to listening around me because of the fights I've gotten myself in—not a skill I was necessarily proud of but it was useful.
"Because I'm in a good mood Riley," I answer carrying the glass into the living room to set it on top of my grand piano.
"What did Sav do to you to put you in a good mood?" Riley asks and I notice Hunter poised on the far end of the main couch staring at me with a half shit-eating grin, along with Nico obviously paying attention from the corner of his eye, while looking completely disinterested.
"We just went for a drive, why am I not allowed to be in a general good mood?"
"You can just it's a little uncharacteristic," Hunter says running a hand through his hair before he pulled out his phone to ensure he hadn't ruined it.
"And?" I counter, "why should it matter?".
"Doesn't, its good to see you in a good mood".
I hummed as I lifted the key cover revealing the numerous keys that I was familiar with from learning to play when I was seven. Running my fingers over the keys I very quickly began playing a soft song to reflect on how I felt.
