Chapter 07

"Saved it."

Ma'am Lesley ejected the flash drive that contains all the articles for the newspaper. She then started checking my work.

I literally had no sleep last night from writing the two articles. I ended up not writing the script because I was too tired and drained to do so. I couldn't even think what to put in a single scene. I have to go to the Theatre club today to tell them that.

They're meeting today for the final casting. They may not need the script for that because I heard Kuya Frank pulled out scenes from the story for the actors to perform so he could see who deserves a role. I also heard Glee club members would audition since the play is musical.

Maraming tao sa school. Since DFOT is also approaching, the students and their coaches had to use the weekend to focus on training, too. Our school has been very busy for the past weeks for the two synchronous major events. Not to mention that our school will host the DFOT, the more people flood in to clean the surroundings and make it venue-worthy.

"Okay na po ba, Ma'am?" I was still standing in front of her table while she was busy reading the articles I wrote. I am so close to just laying down on the floor because I was too sleepy. But I still have to wait for Ma'am Lesley's feedback.

She was nodding her head from time to time while her eyes were on her laptop. I just kept myself conscious by tapping my right foot on the ground. I probably finished at around 3 AM and had to wake up at 7 because the call time for today's focus training was 8 AM. I am never the less-than-8-hours-sleep type of person. That won't work for me.

And I'm pretty sure I look like a living zombie right now.

When Ma'am Lesley was done, she gave me a reserved smile. The one that you'd normally see on a strict teacher. "Yes. I'm impressed." Pinagsalikop niya ang kaniyang kamay.

"Thank you, Ma'am," I said to her, energy-less. I'm so glad what I worked hard for paid off.

"You may start your training now. Ask her what you'll write for today." She pointed at Gastin, the current editor-in-chief, who could actually be the one to write the remaining articles, who's sitting on a table and is on her laptop, too. She's probably editing the other parts of our to-be-released school newspaper.

"Uh... Ma'am, I was hoping I could go buy something to provide me energy? I really feel paper weight." It was evident in my voice that I was exhausted when the day hadn't even started yet.

Kaunti lang ang kinain ko kanina. Bukod sa nagmamadali ay wala rin akong gana. Maybe that's why I have no physical strength right now. I might just need to be full to be awake.

She checked her watch and looked back at me again. "Okay. Be back in 5 or 10 minutes."

I quickly nodded and headed out of the library. The sun's rays weren't excruciating because it was still 8 in the morning so the pace of my walking was just fine. Halos ubos na rin ang natitirang enerhiya ko sa simpleng pag-hakbang lamang.
