Chapter 29
"Rest assured that I'll be home early later so I can cook you dinner," says Ogie.
Nasa island counter kami at naga-agahan. I was too tired yesterday to wake up early. Ewan. Iba 'yong pagod ko kahapon. O sadyang sobrang pagod lang talaga ako.
"You're not busy today?" I asked, stirring my coffee.
"Busy," sagot niya. That wouldn't take me until the evening. Makakauwi ako before six siguro," at kinuha ang cup ng kape.
I nodded understandingly. "What are you going to cook?"
The side of his lips rose while sipping on his coffee. After that, he placed the coffee on the counter and glanced at me. "What do you want ba?"
I poured syrup on the sliced part and used my fork to eat it.
"Okay. I'll cook you your favorite," nakangisi niyang sabi.
Vermont Augustus de Luna.
He was my roommate in college. We became friends while we're living in the same roof. And he was friendly so it became easy for us to start our friendship.
Eventually, things escalated. He started to catch feelings. I did, too. But I didn't act on it because I was still focusing on myself back then. So he promised to pursue me once we're both successful and he did. Just seven months ago, we became official. And yes, we're living in.
It's consensual. We both agreed to it. And we're adults now, for God's sake. Four more years and I'm already in my 30s so I prefer not wasting time on anything. I've wasted enough, dealing with my own mess.
They already met Ogie and they're fine with him. So I basically have no problem.
Plus Ogie is a really, really good cook. He always cooks back when we were still in college. He'd complain why I always order outside so he volunteered to make food for us.
"How's pre-production, by the way?" he suddenly asked. He reached for the pancake plate and picked one as if he was just eating a loaf bread.
"Lots of work," I simply said. "But we're gonna start blocking important scenes for a week. And then after that, we'll do the shooting proper."
