Chapter Twenty Eight
*Pic of Mihi as a reminder!
"It was too late, the fire had already spread. I couldnt save her!" Seeing the hurt and torment on his face, Bekka could not think of anything to say that would make the situation better. Instead she pushed passed the heavy block of emotions in her throat and asked him the one question she knew he was trying to avoid to answer. A name she knew he had tried to avoid saying in fear of breaking the last remainng bit of control he had over his emotions.
"What was her name?"
Bekka's voice was so calm as she asked the simple question. Kevin didnt say anything for a long time. After a few minutes however, he opened his mouth as if to say something but then closed it again. Bekka could tell that he was having an internal battle so she just stayed silent, letting him have as much time as he needed.
"Can i not say it for now?" he turned his defeated face to her as he gave up the internal battle.
"Of course." Bekka put a hand on his shoulder in understaning and ecncouragement.
"Thanks" Kevin gave her a small grateful smile to which she just replied to by giving him a cheeky wink.
"So..." Bekka clapped her hands as she stood up, "seeing as we both cant get any sleep tonight, what about we try and shake off these sad vibes by watching a nice funny movie with warm cups of hot chocolate huh?" she stretched out her hand to him to help him up from the bench.
kevin turned his head to look at her with an amused look.
"C'mon!" She encrouraged him with a rised eyebrows and a smile. With a shake of his head, kevin put his hand in hers as he allowed her to pull him to his feet.
Together, they walked arm in arm towards the house. When they got inside, kevin took the task of making the hot chocoloate as Bekka went about finding a movie they could watch. She looked for over 10 mins before finally settling for Frozen.
"Seriously? Frozen?" Kevin asked with raised eyebrows as he handed her the warm cup of hot chocolate.
"Whaaat? Frozen is a great movie!" she defended.
" Is it now?" Kevin sat down and handed her one of the mugs in his hands.
"Thanks!" They both sunk back into the sofa and snuggled under warm blankets as the opening credits of Frozen rolled by.
The movie was watched in a comfortable silence that neither party felt the need to talk. Kevin hadn't asked Bekka why she couldn't sleep, which Bekka was surprised at but also really appreciated it. She hadn't known kevin for long but already she could tell that underneath the witty front he gave off, he was a guy with many layers. Layers which she was excited to uncover. He seemed like someone who had gone through so much pain that he had mastered the art of hiding it so well. But unlike Min woo who hid behind rudeness and arrogance; Kevin's choice of mask was the complete opposite. Thinking of Min woo, Bekka was reminded of why she had gone out in the first place and the longing for Min woo came back in full force. So as a way to stop herself from sinking into the abyss of sadness she turned her full focus onto the present, which at the moment involved Frozen, hot chocolate and Kevin!

As soon as she walked out into arrivals, there was only one thing on her mind. She frantically moved her head from side to side looking for him but only to be faced with a sea of people with name posters but none of which saying her name. About to give up, she looked down to start rolling her bags towards the taxi car park. She had not told her mum she was coming because she wanted it to be a surprise so no one had been sent to pick her up. Well, that and also because a certain someone had promised to pick her up. She had told him not to come, especially considering how angry his grandfather had seemed, but he had insisted that he wanted to be the first person she sees when she got into the country. Sweet guesture, yes, but also quite stupid. The media would have a field day if they saw him picking her up from the airport. So maybe he had seen some sense. It just sucked a little because she had actually been very excited to see him. Bekka thought to herself as she started to make her way to the exit.
