chapter six

The rest of the morning surprisingly went without much drama. She had maths, biology, Korean and chemistry. All of which were not her best subjects, but in the words of Sharpay Evans, they didn't make her want to stick pens in her eyes either. So she was in a happy mood when she and Mi-hi started making their way to lunch. When,

"Omg! Ahhhhhhh..." they were walking from their chemistry class heading to the canteen, when Bekka and Mi-hi heard a lot of girls screaming. They were all heading towards the canteen as well.

"What the heck is going on...?" Bekka asked Mi-hi as they quickened their pace to see what was happening. And it was when they rounded the corner, to face one of the many long and modern, palace like hallways in the school, that led to the canteen -that they saw a group of girls crowded around the massive black plasma screen that hang on the wall just outside the door that led to the canteen. They all seemed to be engrossed in whatever was on the screen.

"Emma, (museun il-ieyo) what is going on?" Mi-hi asked a short shy girl who was just lacking at the end of the group. It was the first time that Bekka had seen Emma with an expression that wasn't scared or sad. Her eyes actually had some spark in them when she answered, "its, Kim min woo, he has just arrived in to the country" she finished with a smile playing on her lips in her- not so good English accent, but at least she was better than some of the people in Bekka's classes.

"Why do I feel like I need to know who Kim min woo is?" She commented while facing Mi-hi with raised eyebrows.

"Well, that would be because you should." She stated simply. "He is Y.I.S's idea of Alex Pettyfer in terms of popularity and looks.(only his not blond)"

"Oh come on he cannot be that hot. I mean Alex Pettyfer is just on another level of hotness", Bekka finished with one of those sigh and dreamy looks that took over her face whenever she talked about a hot celebrity that she liked.

"Oh, trust me he is, THAT hot!" Mi-hi assured me with more conviction in her voice than Bekka have ever heard.

"Yh right whatever, if you say so darling." Bekka rolled her eyes and smiled while looping her arm through Mi-hi's dragging her in to the canteen towards all the mouth-watering aromas that were calling to her. "I don't know about you, but am famished!"

"Fam- fami-fami what?" Mi-hi looked at Bekka with one of those confused looks she gave her every time she said an English word that was nowhere near the average curriculum that they followed at Y.I.S.

"fa-mi-sh-t, famished. It's another way of saying hungry." A smiled played on Bekka's lips as she explained to Mi-hi. She loved teaching her knew English words and she could tell that Mi-hi also liked teaching her knew Korean words. So in short, it was a two-way trade that worked perfectly for both of them. English class was her best class ever since joining this school. Which was odd seeing as she didn't particularly like the subject back in England. It's not like she was bad at it, not at all. In fact she was one of the A-grade students in her class. It's just that she could've done without the Shakespeare and post-1914 poems they had to read and analyze. Once again she had no problem with Shakespeare or the classics, if anything, she loved reading a lot. And Jane Austin had to be one of her favorite authors, with 'pride and prejudice' being on top of the list of her favorite books. She had read it over 10 times and the watched the movie more times than she could keep track of. But with that being said, the English classes here were just so fun to her because she felt like she only went to class to have a chat with the teacher , who by the way, seemed to bum her-(A/N: bum means-suck up to her/love her.) Sometimes when Mrs. Bryant was teaching she glanced at Bekka when saying a particularly difficult word as if checking if her pronunciation was on point, or sometimes to check if the way she explained the grammar was okay. A fact that Bekka found a bit puzzling seeing as Mrs. Bryant was actually good at what she did. True there were a few hitches with how she said some words, but I think that was due to the fact that she had lived in Korea for over 10 years now. So the lack of exposure was bound to take its toll on her.
