Kim min woo's POV

"I think it's really incredible how much you have achieved at just the age of 18." The nauseating voice of the woman clad in a breath-cutting dress shrilled through his ear drums

"I agree with my wife, you have reached a stage that some people only dream of at the age of 30. And even then, they never quite make it." The chubby old man with a rather gruffy voice bellowed. His wife snickering in agreement as if he had just made the funniest joke of the millennium.

"Well, thank you. But I am sure that I couldn't have done it without the support of all the shareholders and members of the board!" Min woo praised. He had all the model responses needed when speaking to business partners down to a T that they came like second nature to him now. This could be quite useful especially when trying to open a branch in that particular country. He had come to Miami on the latest mission that his evil grandfather had come up with. And that was to open yet another branch in America. I mean you would think that the old man would be satisfied with the other 10 branches that he had already managed to establish in 10 different states but NO! He always wanted more and more. And this time min woo was unlucky that the old devil had gotten an aneurysm on his way to the airport so the project had automatically fallen on shoulders of the heir. HIM! He still remembers that day –

When he got the call from Park biseo (Secretary Park) telling him the news. In that moment in time min woo had actually been scared for his grandparent's life. He had matched out of class in a hurry, jumped into his white Honda fc sports car and sped all the way to the house. The old man didn't like hospitals so when anything happened concerning his health, the family doctor would be summoned immediately. That's why when he got to his grandfather's quarters he wasn't surprised to see Kim uisa (Dr.Kim) heading out.

"Afternoon doctor Kim." Min woo greeted with a bow. His face emotionless. You know when relatives are waiting for a family member who is theatre and they try to be strong, on the outside but always dreading the worst, yep, that was Min woo. Only difference is he had had 12 years to perfect his blank expression.

"Ahh, Min woo! How have you been?" the old doctor enquired with a smile. He had a face that calmed you down and made you want to confide in him in an instant. I guess that was why hal-abeoji (grandfather) has kept him around that long. Min woo thought to himself. But anyway besides that-

"How is he?" Min woo urged ignoring the doctor's concern his grandfather's health taking predominance in his mind. He didn't know whether it was his stone-cold expression or the slight catch in his voice- reflecting just how concerned he truly was, but whichever one it was, made Dr.Kim sober up and say,

"He just had a little scare but I have managed to stabilise him at the moment."

"So is he going to be alright then?" by now Min woo's fears were receding but he just wanted to be sure.

"Well, for now he is, but if he goes on the way he is at the moment, I don't think the news I will be giving next time will be this positive." Dr.Kim was now in full doctor mode and his face was serious to drive home the importance of what he was saying. Min woo also acknowledged it knowing fully well what the doctor meant. His grandfather was a workaholic, he had been all his life and it seemed like old age wasn't about to stop him. However, with work came stress, add that to the stresses that aging brings and you have a recipe for a myocardial infarction a.k.a heart attack. One thing that Min woo was also certain of was that his grandfather's retirement marked the beginning of the end of his own life. Into a life of being forced to leave school- not that he needed to be there anyway. He had learnt everything in the syllabus up to university level thanks to studying 10 hours a day since he was 9. He would be forced to focus solely on the company which involved travelling from country to country, from one hotel to another, board meeting after board meeting...you get the point. So you also understand why he was dreading every step that brought him closer to the old man 's room.
