THE ULTIMATUM (33)

Bekka sat there looking at the phone not really sure what to do. For starters she had to find out where this something Carlton hotel was. But before that she wasn't sure if she should alert Min wo about this. Although something told her that would not earn her any brownie points from his grandfather, and God knows she need as many brownie points as she could master. So deciding it was best not to tell Min woo, she went ahead to get ready. But she made sure to tell her mum, that way if anything happened to her at least her mum would have a lead on where to start looking for her body. Her mum had offered to accompany her but she had declined the offer. This was her fight and if she was going to be worthy of being with Min woo, she had to man up.

She pulled up in front of the Ritz Carlton hotel in her little red baby. After giving the keys to the Valet, she made her way into the reception. She was dressed in a smart white skater dress with black lace running down either side. She had put in a lot of effort to look as smart and polished as possible by even adding cute white ankle strap heels to match the black and white clutch bag.

"My name is Rebekka Daniels and I am here to meet- "

"Oh yes, he is waiting for you." the pretty lady at reception cut her off before she could even finish her sentence. "It's this way." She added as she led the way. Rebekka was thankful that this hotel was out of the city so there weren't many reporters outside. She figured that's probably why the old man had chosen this location. And she obviously didn't miss the fact the place was grand. She internally admired the luxurious interior design with diamond chandeliers that hang from the ceiling. Her palms were sweating as her nerves intensified with every step she took towards what was possible going to be the worst meeting of her life. She had never met Min Woo's grandfather face to face but what she had heard of him was enough to tell her that he was not someone to be messed with. And what had she done, messed with him in possibly the worst way, so forgive her if she felt like she was walking to the slaughter house. After what felt like ages, the receptionist stopped to signify that they had reached their destination. As expected the old man had chosen a seat at the farthest table in the hotel lounge. But like her he seemed to like windows, so the table was near the huge glass windows facing the front of the hotel but because it was on the second floor there was no fear of being caught on camera by the paparazzi.

"안녕하세요회장님. 와서요. (Annyeonghaseyo Hoejangnim. Waseo yo. - Hello Chairman. I have come)" Still standing, Bekka gave a respectful bow her hands clasped in front of her.

The old man looked up at her. "예 안자(ye, anja.- Yes, sit down)" Bekka could not see his face due to he bowed head so she couldn't tell if he looked angry or not but she just sat making sure to keep a neutral expression.

"감사합니다! (Kamsahabnima. -Thank you)."

"잘 지냈어 요? (Jal chinaesoyo? – Are you doing okay?)" The question caught Rebekka by surprise.

"Eh?" she looked up at his with shock. And what shocked her more was the fact that he was smiling. This was not right. This man was supposed to be scary and angry. Why was he smiling. Maybe this was his way of luring her in before he kidnapped her. Bekka was still in her head when the smiling old man spoke again.

"Are you okay? I have heard a lot about you from your mum but this is the first time we are meeting in person. Although I do regret that out first meeting is in such circumstances."

"Ye, Jal chineyo. My mum had told me quite a lot about you too." A little bit of sarcasms could be detected in Rebekka's voice.

"Not all good things I bet." It seemed like the sarcasm had not escaped him which made Bekka smile a little. She was starting to like this guy.
