I looked at her as if she had gone mad. I couldn't become part of her family. I just wanted to have as normal of a life as I could.
"I'm sorry, Ella. I just can't. I have my own family."
She looked at me with as much anger as I had ever seen on a person,"No, Sabrina. I don't think that I explained this correctly. You do not have a choice, darling. You will be a part of this family, whether you like it or not."
I tried to pull my hands apart, but I the rope dug even deeper into my wrists and I felt the warmth of my blood on my hands.
"You can struggle all you want, my love, but you will not be able to untie those ropes. They are done with magic. It is not possible that you can untie them simply by using your hands." Ella said with an evil smirk.
"I don't care. I'm not becoming a part of your family. I will sit here for my whole life before succumbing to your wishes."
She laughed,"I don't think so, honey. I will go to that house of yours and kill each and every last one of the people that you love if you don't agree. Starting with your darling little sister. Daphne, isn't it?
I gasped,"Why do you even want me? You could capture and threaten anyone in the entire town, but instead, you chose me? I'm the least person of value in the whole town."
She started pacing,"On the contrary. You're very valuable and you harness a power that you don't even know."
I stared at her, confused. Obviously, I had no idea what she was talking about.
She smiled and said,"I'll leave you in here to consider your options and I will be back in a half hour to see."
And that's what she did. I was left in that dark room for a long time, but I guess it was only a half hour.
She walked up to me and asked,"So, what is your choice."
"I'll stay," I said glumly.
"Excellent choice. I will untie you and I will show you to your room where Esteban will show you what I expect from you."
She hiked up her skirt and muttered a few words and the rope slipped from my wrists.
"Remember doll, I will always have my eyes on you one way or another. If you attempt to leave, Daphne dies."
I nodded and she took my arm. She led me down a few halls and turned into a room.
"This is the place that you will call home."
The room wasn't like me at all. It had walls with pink rose wallpaper and a puffy pink bedspread. The dressers and headboard were a perfect white and the carpet was the same shade of white.
There was a dark haired boy standing in the corner of the room. He didn't fit in at all with the decoration.
"Sabrina, this is Esteban."
I nodded a hello as I held my bleeding wrists. Even though I honestly despised this woman and this castle, it still felt wrong to let my blood drip onto the perfect carpet.
He walked over to me and took my hand gently into his own. He led me to a bathroom and helped wash the blood off of me. He then used an antiseptic to clean it and then wrapped them in bandages.
We then went back into the room and he pulled open the closet doors as I sat on the bed. He pulled out a slim, baby blue dress and placed it next to me.
"Change into that."
I didn't argue. He left the room and I slipped my clothes off and pulled on the dress. When I was done, I opened the door and let Esteban and his box of makeup and other supplies back into the room.
He had me sit down in a chair and I closed my eyes. He started to do his magic and I fell asleep.
After a while, I awoke and Esteban was sitting down in a chair across from me.
"Are you done," I asked.
"I must inform you on the rules of this castle," Esteban said.
I nodded as a way to let him know that he could continue.
"You are not to leave without the supervision of either me or a guard. You must never use contractions and you will always be dressed by yours truly. Understood?"
I nodded and he got up and left.
I turned to look in the mirror. I was wearing the slightest bit of makeup, but what was there brought the blue in my eyes out. My hair was braided across my head and down my shoulder.
I couldn't believe this. She made me look like a princess. And this was not a dream come true.
