"Ren's arriving soon

"Ren's arriving soon. So be nice," I warned the black haired boy in the studio sofa.

"Ren? Wait why's he coming here?" Sunwoo asked.

"Since Penalty is a Japanese song, and I know nothing about Japanese, I thought of inviting Ren to help with your pronounciations and whatnot," I explained. "That's why Sungmin isn't here today."

"Right... okay," the boy answered, eyes narrowing.

In the midst of this pandemic, masks can really teach you to read someone from the way their eyes move.

"Don't be like that," I played around, cupping his jaw lightly. "He also helped to write Penalty. Gotta give the boy some credit."

"I guess," Sunwoo answered, tilting his head.

"When are the rest coming down?" I continued to ask, tearing my hand away from the boy.

"Soon. They're finishing up individual practice," Sunwoo shared, after letting out a small huff.

I nodded and hummed in acknowledgement. Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Be nice," I advised Sunwoo, walking over to the door.

I opened it to see Ren in all of his beautiful glory.

"Heyy~~" he greeted.

"Hey~~" I greeted back.

"Yo, your studio is so cool!! Definitely better than mine," he compliments.

"I mean, your studio is your room so," I pointed out.

"Well, yeah," Ren replies.

Sunwoo cleared his throat.

"Ren, I'm pretty sure you've seen him before, but this is Sunwoo. Sunwoo, this is Ren," I introduced.

"Hello!" Ren greets.

"Hi," Sunwoo greets, slightly stiffer. "Soh, tells me you're... bi. Is that... true?" the boy asks.

"Woo," I whispered angrily through gritted teeth.

"Soh, it's fine," Ren says. "Yeah, I am. But don't worry, idols aren't really my type," my friend continues. "I prefer boys to girls, home-based music boys to be exact. Don't worry."

Sunwoo probably wasn't even worried. He was just making sure again that Ren wasn't a straight boy in disguise.

"Ren, you can take a look around the studio, if you'd like," I invited - and invited was he as he quickly headed into the recording booth to check out the microphone.

"See? He's into men. So don't worry, your pretty little head about him," I teased Sunwoo, tapping on his bangs lightly.

"He said in preference to women, though," Sunwoo pointed out, pouting.
