I just got back from burial ceremony. I peeled off my black shoes and my white gown that was below my knee. Everyone was in white, as regards to Ruby's last wish. We tried our best not to cry like she said but it was obvious our 'best' wasn't good enough.

Malik was dressed in a white shirt and white jeans. Amanda wore a similar gown to mine which made her tanned skin shine more. Many people showed up to pay their last respect to Ruby. It's funny how the same people who would snub you, insult you, talk bad about you without even knowing you would be the same people that would show up on your burial ground crying like they loved you or knew you.

Malik looked really troubled today while Amanda wore a very sad look. Everyone brought flowers to decorate her. Others, gift cards. It was really nice. The act made me remember Patoranking's 'Celebrate me'.

Thinking about everything that occured today made me realize how true his words were.

A knock on the door made me jolt from my reverie. I went to get the door. It was Dave. What was he doing here? Nessa also showed up at the cemetery.

"Hey. "

"Valerie, how you?"

"I'm good"

"Your sister?--" I interrupted

"She's not around."

"But she followed you to the Ruby's right?"

"Yeah. But she isn't back."

"Ok. I'll call her. Goodbye" I waved him and he turned leaving.

Wahala be like person wey no get boyfriend oh! I went into the house. I decided to give Nadia a call. She was at the cemetery too but she didn't pay any attention to me. She just ignored me. Maybe she's still angry about the way I left her for a week. I just wish she understands that I just needed space..a little 'me' time.

A call came through with the popular annoying iPhone ringtone. The name I saw on my screen was enough to leave me smiling like a crazy monkey the whole day.

I was overjoyed. I picked the call and I heard her sweet little voice that I've missed so much.

Like you don't know. Anyways, the tension everywhere has just been annoying. With everyone forgetting that next month is Valentine.
