Alex's POV

I walked out of Malik's house in anger. I was really angry when she came to my apartment the other day, yelling and crying. Like why doesn't she trust me? We've been together for many years, we're meant to be past this stage of doubts in our relationship.

She spoke of a certain Suzie. The hell??! I have no fucking idea who Suzie is! True, I flirt a lot but I would never think of cheating on Naddy. Never! No matter how intoxicated I am.

I got into my flat and unlocked the doors, I got inside into my room, peeled off my clothes and went in to shower. I just needed cold water running through my hot head right now.

When I was done, I laid on my bed with my phone in my hands, I was waiting for a particular call. I was waiting for Naddy's call. Whenever we had a fight and it was her fault, she let me cool down for two days, before she starts bombarding me with phone calls and messages. It was this crazy little act of hers that just makes her cute and makes me fall too hard.

It's been a week since I heard from her, and I don't even want to believe any of the ideas going on in my head could be happening. Like what if she ends things with me??! Or she ends up hurting herself?? Or she sleeps with a guy just to get back at me? ......
It was this last thought that made me jump from my bed, grab a shirt from my wardrobe, sprayed perfume and ran out of the house. I didn't want to talk to her, she was wrong, she needs to see that but still I wouldn't want her cheating back when I didn't cheat. Nadia was very crazy and could do something like that.

I drove out in a speed of light and drove roughly to her apartment. Once I was there, I got down immediately and tried to even my breath. I climbed the flight of stairs leading to her own flat and when I reached her door. I knocked really hard.

The door flung open, it was her cousin, Meera.

"Hey Meera. Where's your cousin? Where's Naddy?"
I asked her.

"Huh?"

"Meera?"

"Yeah?!"

"I said where is Nadia, your cousin, where is she?"

"Ohh.. Nadia. Urhmm.. she.. she..she travelled."

"I can see through you. Your obviously lying. Where the fuck is Nadia? Your getting me irritated already."

"Alex, I just said she travelled. I'm serious about it. She went on vacation."

"Where?"

"Uhh...she travelled outside. Her parents are on a world tour, and right now they're in Dubai. That's where she is"

"Meera? Where is she? I know she's in there. She can't go on such a big trip without informing me no matter how big the fight is. "

"I have no idea what you're talking about. What I Know is she's not in. "

"Seriously? So if she's 'clearly' not in Nigeria. Then why are you here? You only come to visit her and spend time with her when you're tired and don't want to go back home. So why are you here then? Ohh or did your hostel get burnt.?" She looked quite defeated.

"Urhh ...urhmm no it didn't. I just felt like staying here while she was---"

"Just shut up already. Y'know what? Go in and call her for me."

"That's not possible. " She said as she banged the door shut against my face. I knocked on the door again, screaming Nadia's name.

"Nadia! Naddy! Naddy!! Just open up okay? I'm sorry okay? I'm really sorry. Just forgive me and open up. Naddy!! Nadia"

Suddenly, the door burst open,and a light skinned guy stepped out of the door, gave me a once over, smirked and left. Did she really ...?

She left the door hanging open as she walked in, leading me and I followed her.

"What d'you want?" She asked

"Are you kidding me right now. You literally just ignored me for a whole week and I come here to apologise, your cousin lies to me and closes the door on me. Few minutes later, a guy walks out of the door, gives me a wicked smirk and you're asking what I want?. Fuck!? Does everything have to be about you.? I told you times without number I didn't cheat. I have no idea who Suzie is?"

She laughed. " You didn't cheat right? You also do not know who Suzie is ? Alright! "

"What is alright? Can you just talk to me for fuck's sake?" I yelled

"Don't you fucking yell at me. Why d'you keep on lying? I literally saw the pictures. Would I be angry with you over something I have no proof of. The proof is there. I saw pictures. What is wrong with you? Stop lying to me. I hate lies. Just come clean and--and all these fights would be over."

"What proof? Show me. I'm sure there's more to it." She sighed heavily and walked closer to me, she rested her two hands on my shoulders.

"Baby, just tell me the truth okay? I promise I'll forgive you and I'll forget it all just tell me. Did you sleep with her? "

"Nadia. No. I didn't. I swear." She pushed me away violently as I stumbled but regained my balance a little. It came off as a surprise.

"Liar. Liar. All lies..lies..lies. Don't you ever get tired of telling your cheap lies? I know you did it you can lie all you want. Y'know what? Get Out!."

"Naddy, you're chasing me away? Ohh I get it. You want me to go so you can call that guy in again right and continue from where you left off." A slap landed across my left cheek.

"Not everyone is like you Alex. And I, Nadia will never be like you. Now get out."

"You're not like me? Ohh but you'll do anything to get back at me. That's how you are. And that's what you did. You slept with that guy because you think I cheated. THAT IS WHAT YOU DID!" I yelled

"Yes, I did that. It's none of your business. Not only you can cheat now leave my house. I don't ever want to see you close to me, my cousin, my apartment. No where close to me. Now get your lying ass outta here" she said. I chuckled humorlessly.

"I should go? So..this is how you want us to end a relationship of closely 5 years. Nadia, is this really what you want? Just because of a little misunderstanding that could have been resolved by just sitting and talking it out. I came here so we could talk things out. But you're ending things? D'you really think I'd cheat on you? Search yourself. Do you? Someone clearly lied to you and least you could have done was to call me, talk to me and we'll resolve it or better still do some more clean investigation. But no? You believed them over me. Now you're telling me to walk out? Is this what you really want?" I questioned her.

"Yes, this is what I want. Now get out. "

"I will okay? But remember I didn't sleep with any Suzie and I love you too much to end up cheating." I said before walking out and banging the door as I walked past .

"Goodbye" she yelled back

I couldn't control the tears threatening to fall. I rushed into my car, rested my head on the wheels as I let the tears fall freely.

So....this is the end? Really??
