Valerie.

The bond between Malik and I grew too quickly. I think I was beginning to fall for him. I always found myself smiling at his silly texts, checking him out, longing to be close to him. It was all so new and weird. I definitely wasn't used to this feeling.

I also realized being with him made me quit drugs and I didn't slit myself a lot like before. I was always happy and smiley. There was this new found happiness in me and I was really happy about it. But on the other hand, I was scared because I feared it won't last forever...just a short while.

We always went on one date or the other. Just yesterday, we went to the cinema. Other times the park, restaurant,coffee shop, bars and the likes.

Finally, valentine was around the corner. And by around the corner, I mean in the next two days. Nadia still had her crazy plan on so I had to also go double shopping with her. Nadia and Alex drove in his car while I drove in the same car as Malik. We drove in silence and the thought that I might have fallen for him made the car too suffocating for me.

"So......I'm sorry I didn't say this earlier. Would you be my val?" I turned to him.

"That's too late, beside whether you asked or not.. we'll still be going on the double date."

"You don't seem too thrilled about the double date" he asked slightly sad.

"I'm not at alll. I just agreed because Nadia would definitely kill me if I didn't and I saw it as a way to pass time." He didn't say anything for about two minutes.

"So what is your regular Valentine day like?" He suddenly asked out of the blues.

"For starters, I don't fancy that day. I don't even get the reason behind it. While everyone is away dining and going on dates with their boyfriends, I'm either at home watching the tele or sleeping and treating myself to loads of food." He chuckled and I smiled.

"So what about you? How's your regular?"

"I do my normal daily routine then in the evening I go to the club for some valentine special. I always end up getting laid" he said. I stared at him then put my eyes back on my laps. Was he really going to do that this year?

"So what are your plans this year?" I asked him.

"Well...I wouldn't say they're realistic but I hope it goes well. I plan on going on the double date with you guys then in the evening we'll spend it together. I can't do all that because I have you this year." I blushed smiling sheepishly.

"I love your smile" he stated. I decided to avoid looking at him before my whole face explodes.

The car came to a stop and we got down. It was a big mall. The size would tell you it's only for the elites. It was exquisitely magnificent. We walked in and went to choose our wears for the date. A guy took Malik to the male section while I went to the female's. In no time, Malik was back out with a shopping bag containing his wears and I was still here looking for a nice dress to put on.

"You can't be kidding me?" I heard so I turned around to see Malik. He looked surprised. Why?!

"What?" I asked him.

"You're still here. Haven't you found one yet?"

"Nah. They're either too short or too open or too bright. I don't even know" I turned to the salesgirl. "Go in there and find me something wonderful"

"Girls!" Malik scoffed.

"What was that?" I asked him.

"This is exactly how Jemmy behaves. Waste time on dress then afterwards waste another round on makeup and hair. You guys are the most difficult species" I chuckled. This guy ehn

"We aren't that difficult. We just need a man with good understanding skills." He scoffed. The lady brought out more. After many trials and rejection, I picked a red sequinned knee length. I picked gold shoes and a gold glittery purse. Afterwards he paid for the bills and were on our way back since we couldn't find Alex and Nadia anywhere.

"Should I drop you at your place or would you rather come to mine" Yours please? But I couldn't say that. I was trying to form hard to get.

"Take me home" it sounded so rude so I added "please?"

"Alright." He said then drove off to my apartment.

Once we reached our destination, I alighted from the car and poked my face through the window from the outside.

"Thanks for the ride. Look forward to our date" I saw a smile creep up his face and I walked in.

I got into the house, and as usual, I knew Nessa wouldn't be home. She spent most of her time at Dave's place now. I wonder if it's because of her love and relationship with him or because she didn't want to cross paths with me. I don't know and I don't care either.

I went into the kitchen. It was totally empty. No foodstuffs, no food in the fridge or in the pot. I should have just gone to Malik's house. I didn't know whether to order food or go buy foodstuffs to cook.

I decided to go with the second option. I went out of the house again to go buy food. I decided to cook porridge yam. I came back with all the necessary ingredients and set to cook. I dished out food for myself and packed the rest into the freezer knowing I won't eat again.

I ate as I watched a Korean movie, all of us are dead. This movie has to be the best kdrama I ever seen.

After I was done watching, I retired to bed. I tried reading a bit before I slept but sleep overtook me.

I woke the next morning to do my normal morning routine. I cleaned the house and my room, took my bath, dressed up, had my breakfast and left for school.

Getting to class, I sat close to Timi. The guy from the other day. I always sat close to him since we grew kinda close. He would always keep a seat for me and would get me snacks after class. He was a really nice and funny guy. But he never knew when to be serious, he was always joking or playing. But Timi in the class is a different person entirely. He would be so focused on whatever that proceedeth out of the mouth of the lecturer and you'll be like 'Is this the Timi I know?'. 

We always did our assignment and project together plus Timi is very intelligent. So with his help, I always got good marks and he also tutored me in areas I didn't understand. Having one more friend wouldn't hurt, or would it?

I really hope nobody is shipping Timi and Valerie😏. I'm low-key excited about the date😩🤲

And Nessa? Wazz up with her? I'm thinking of putting the next chapter in her POV but like I said earlier...Nessa is not that much of a main character. She's basically related with two of my main characters, Malik and Valerie. So we won't be hearing much of Nessa buh I'll try not to forget her💆
