After dad spoke to me yesterday, I felt very angry. Dad is the only person that can handle my stubbornness, and that is because he also is very stubborn. I know what he can do to me if I don't return. But I don't feel like returning home, like what would I do?  Seeing mom and Nessa laugh and gist together always makes me a tad jealous. Okay.. maybe veryyy jealous.

Honestly, I have no idea if I should return or not. If I stay back, dad might cut out my allowance for three months. Not like he's not done it before.  I'll go back but not tomorrow like he said, maybe the weekend.

I got up from bed and quickly went to shower. I had no where to go. I really felt like talking to someone but Zaga had left for America recently and Zahrah has gone back to see her family. I was seriously lonely. My only friends were just Zahrah and Zaga, seriously??

After I had freshened up, I left the house and locked the doors. I decided to go for a little shopping just for my snacks and cosmetics. I took a cab to my favorite mall. Dad can be so annoying, I know how many times I've begged him to get me a car but he's bluntly turned down my request. I'm sure if Nessa should go ask him, even without begging, he'd just give her.  Assuming I had a car, I wont be going through the stress of Uber or cab wahala.

I got into the mall, grabbed a shopping basket since I would not be buying much and went to the cosmetic and toiletries section, got my face scrub, new body lotion, soap and perfumes. I decided to go to the snacks section and buy cookies, sodas, and chocolates. I was really jobless, I had no need for all these things, I just felt like going out and doing something.

I went to the counter and paid for my goods after the cashier had given me the bill. As I was heading out, I bumped into a body. I looked up and saw the nice girl who had offered me a seat in school that day of the impromptu test.

"Ohmigawd sorry. I didn't see you coming" she rushed politely.

"Ohh, it's no problem. I wasn't looking myself. I forgot to thank you for that day in the lecture hall."

"You remember me??" She asked sounding surprised.

"Why wouldn't I ? I'm Valerie by the way." I said bringing my hands out for a handshake.

"Nadia. Nadia Bello" She said fitting her palms into mine.

"Get out of the way"  A fat lady said as she pushed her way past us.

"Nawa ohh. I'm not the cause of your obesity oh" I said, knowing she heard me cause she turned back to see who made that statement. I heard a laugh stifle beside me. I turned to see Nadia laughing.

"You really are a funny personality. You know she heard you right?"

"That was the point. So she could hear me."

"Why don't we go have a little lunch upstairs. There is a bukka upstairs where you can eat. The food is tasty. Or d'you have somewhere to be?"

"I honestly don't. That's great I'm dying of hunger here. "

"Great. So let's go." We used the elevator to get to the fourth floor where the restaurant was. We went to the counter and ordered.

"Please I would like to have just chicken and chips." She told the girl serving us.

"I would like the same as well." I told her. She told us to be patient, she would bring it once it was ready. We went to take our seats.

"So why didn't you go home for the holidays?" Nadia asked me once we were sitted.

"Didn't feel like it. You?"

"No one to return home to."

"How? I don't get?"

"My parents are on a world tour. I'm the only child so basically I have nothing to return for. "

"Ohh, not same for me though. I just don't want to go"

"Y'know you're lucky. I'd kill to be in your shoes right now. D'you know what it means to have parents who don't have your time? Always on one trip to another."

"Please let's not talk about parents." She chuckled.

"Alright. So let's talk about food then. How long will it take this girl to get our chicken and chips."

I really enjoyed my day with Nadia. After our meal, we decided to go to a Festival Mall to watch a movie. It was fun. Then we played some video games with coins which we had to buy. She was really fun to be with.

Right now, we were at my place, making spaghetti and sauce. Funny how two bored people can click in just a day.

"Stop eating the chicken, this girl. If you finish it, what will you use to eat the spaghetti." I cautioned her.

"Sorry ma'am. It's just too sweet and I can resist fried chicken."

"You better learn to 'cause the next time, I'll just use this hot spoon to slap your hand" I told her.

"Yes ma, I'll try not to"

"You better try harder" she laughed softly.

"So ...d'you live in this big apartment alone?"

"Big ke?  It's not big ohh and no. I live with my sister"

"You have a sister? Maddo"

"Yeah, I do. Instead of asking this questions, make yourself useful by checking the spaghetti."

"I'm tired oh. " She grumbled.

Finally, the food was ready and we settled down to eat. After eating, Nadia said it was time to take her leave. So I walked her to the gate of the compound.

"Oya now, bye bye. Today was really fun though" she said

"Yeah, it was . I was bored to death before I met you at that mall." She laughed.

"It's funny how we just met today and we've gone this far. Anyways, good night. I'll call you when I get home"  Yeah,we exchanged numbers earlier. We hugged ourselves goodbye and she left.
