The Tension Begins

I looked up in awe at the huge gates that had "UA" engraved at the top. The campus was beautiful, and I could not believe how amazing Japan was already. As I walked inside the courtyard, I thought back to the rest of the plane ride.

I took a two-hour nap until I was gently nudged awake. I opened my eyes and realized that I was cuddling with Aizawa. It didn't hit me initially until I looked up at his dark, warm eyes as he was telling me it was time for dinner.

Dinner? Holy shit, that's right! I was still on a plane headed to my new beginning... for the next three months, of course. I hummed and then shot up, shocked and embarrassed. I was clinging to Aizawa like a body pillow for who knows how long. I took up so much of his time and space, but it almost felt like he was holding me as I slept. No, I'm definitely imagining things.

I'll ask him at some point what happened.

The flight attendant gave us our three-course meal with drinks, and we began digging in when Aizawa looked over and asked, "Did you sleep well?"

I froze with noodles halfway in my mouth, "Uhh, yeah I did. Thanks and sorry for being my impromptu pillow."

He glanced down at his food and sighed, "Why are you sorry?"

I kept my eyes focused on the booklet in the pouch in front of me. My anxiety began rising as I mustered some courage, "I won't be if you liked it."

Aizawa huffed almost jokingly while taking another bite of his meal, "Then don't be."

So! He sounds like he likes me or my company at the very least. I smiled and finished my food as my anxiety dramatically reduced. The rest of the ride involved random conversations and an unexpected stop in Los Angeles that caused us to have to be rescheduled to another flight, forcing us to get to Japan more than 12 hours late. Spending our time napping in the large, luxurious First Class Lounge and exploring the airport helped the wait go by quickly.

We made our way down a beautiful hallway to Principal Nezu's office with our bags in tow. Aizawa knocked lightly and went in first to see if he was available. He motioned for me to join him, and I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. There I saw Nezu: a cross between a dog and a rodent? Either way, he was the absolute cutest! I had so much respect for him, but oddly I wanted to pet him as well.

"Ah, Raezor! It's so good to finally have you with us," Nezu said.

"Good to be here too! I am very excited, and please call me Rae."

"Great. I take it you had a good flight, and Mr. Aizawa gave you good company?"

I began to blush as I remembered our adventures from Justice to the napping incident. I glanced at Aizawa who was hiding half his face in his capture scarf.

"Very good on both accounts," Aizawa piped up in a serious tone.

"Alright! Now, Rae let's go over your arrangement and the benefits involved.

You will be working with us administratively to come up with a concrete strategy to stay ahead of the various villains targeting our students as well as teaching class 1-A on formulating strategies. This is going to be a great opportunity for them to learn from such a well-regarded Pro in the field. You'll be working closely with Mr. Aizawa as expected.

Now, your salary for both jobs would be combined. Since UA is well established, we can afford to pay you higher than the average teacher. Also, your skillset is that of a leader in your line of work, which would affect that more. That being said, we are prepared to pay you $7,000 USD per month as a stipend.

There is also an opportunity to work with another well-established Pro, Sir Nighteye, at his agency. He is also great at planning and strategizing and wanted to work with you while you were in Japan on some projects they have open. They are also prepared to pay for your services, but that negotiation is to be had with him..."
