IMPORTANT: If you are a returning reader and have NOT read the new Prologue chapter, please go back and read it! (It is the second "chapter" right after the Updated Author's Notes)

It would be beneficial if you read that new chapter before reading The Rematch. If you've read the prologue already, lit! I hope you enjoyed it!! ❤❤

At night, Ground Beta was lit up like an actual city, but the lack of life made it eerier. I walked through the side entrance and looked ahead at the streets.

Bugs and other wildlife could be heard in the distance, but the buildings were devoid of life. My new costume fits like a glove, and I even tried out some of the new mechanics before heading over here.

There were a few minor kinks, but the new items upgraded my entire ensemble. I feel powerful; I feel like I can actually go out into the world and save a child, their parents, or more!

As I made my way deeper into the training grounds, I made sure to clear my thoughts of anything not involving this fight. Aizawa has a talent for stalking alleyways and building rooftops because of his mobility with the capture scarf. Because of that, I made an effort to stay away from long, dark alleys and stuck to the middle of the road. That way, I could react a little quicker in the event he sees me first.

My quirk was activated since approaching the training ground, and my costume was already feeling more mobile as the energy began storing in my suit. Suddenly, the sound of something unfolding toward me became louder.

I pushed my quirk up a notch, now seeing things around me play out in nanoseconds. I turned my head to see Aizawa's scarf slowly coming toward my legs. As I studied the position of the scarf, I knew he was going for something longer and more intense than the spar we had in front of the students.

He wanted to capture me, break me down, and get me to see what he sees. I chuckled as I activated my suit and support items. I shot upwards and levitated for a few seconds before landing behind the point of impact.

From the shadows, Aizawa walked out with his goggles over his eyes and his long hair lightly swaying from the breeze.

"A new hero outfit and support items for our little fight? I'm flattered," he said in a sleepy tone laced with grit.

I shook my head, "I needed the upgrade anyway. That way, I can kick your ass while putting this new stuff to work."

Aizawa smirked as his eyes glowed a menacing red and his hair began to float, "Well then. Show me what you got besides that smart-ass mouth of yours."

A smile began to creep on my face. Even though my quirk was erased for the moment, I was admittedly taking in the man before me. His demeanor was dark and focused and something about that screamed "obey me, bitch".

No matter, I knew I could last longer without my quirk since my support items were on my side. I floated up quickly onto a building's roof, narrowly avoiding his second scarf assault attempt.

He huffed at this and swung to meet me. I stepped back and reactivated my quirk now that our line of sight was broken.

He could probably wear me out quickly if we kept going like this; it's not like I had increased physical endurance since our fight a couple of days ago.

But I felt more fluid in my movements and free with my thinking. I lunged forward, avoiding him but grabbing his scarf. I instantly moved to throw him off the building to give me time, but he dodged this and went to grab me instead.

As his arms wrapped around my waist, I threw myself back off the two-story building, taking him with me. As we hit the ground, I landed a hard punch on his jaw and kicked him off me. We stumbled away from each other, my blood dripping on the floor from a cut on my thigh I got on a random shard of glass.
