Nat and Clint headed to where they fought the Vigilante, the began looking for the arrow with the blood on it.

They looked for a total of ten minutes before Natasha found it.

"Clint, I found it!" Natasha called as Barton came running.

"Right, let's get this to Banner. He should be able to prove what we already think." Barton said as Natasha nodded. "What if it is Y/N?"

"I'm not going to let him keep going out as the Vigilante if that's what you're asking." Natasha said as Barton didn't make a counter argument.

The pair of them got back to the tower and headed to Bruces labs. Luckily he was in at the time.

"Nat, Clint, what's with the bloodied arrow? You shoot Nat by mistake or something?" Bruce said as Nat handed him the arrow.

"We need you to test the blood on this thing, see who's blood it is." Natasha said as Banner nodded.

"It should take an hour or two." Banner said as Natasha got a message from Steve to visit him and bring Barton.

That evening while Bruce was working on a new formula, waiting for the blood scan of the arrow to come through, Y/N used the vents, lowering himself down and grabbing the arrow before canceling and deleting the blood test. Bruce turned to look for something to finish his formula, and noticed the Arrow was missing and the scan was gone off the records.

"Nat's gonna kill me." Bruce said as Nat as if on cue came in and noticed the arrow was missing and the scan was canceled and deleted. Her face was like thunder, she stormed out of the room and headed to Y/N's room to find him reading through a criminology book.

"Where is it?" Natasha asked, her voice almost making Y/N's facade crumble.

"Where's what? What are you looking for, if it's that $10 bill I told you I left it in your quarters." Y/N said as Natasha began searching his room.

"The arrow with the blood on it that Bruce was using to find out who the Vigilante was."

"You know Bruce doesn't let me in his labs anymore, not since the incident. Only lab I'm allowed in is Tony's. And what arrow?" Y/N said still playing dumb as Natasha went through his drawers.

"Me and Clint gave an arrow with blood on it to Bruce so he could run a test on the blood and see who it belonged to, when I went to see him just now the arrow was gone and the blood test was canceled and deleted. I'm gonna ask once more where's the arrow?" Natasha said as Y/N raised his eyebrow.

"Why would I have it? How would I have it if I can't even get into the lab." Y/N said as he saw Nat looking through the drawer he'd concealed the arrow in. Luckily Nat only checked the actual drawer and not the 'roof' of it.

"Okay you're grounded until you give up that arrow." Nat said as Y/N huffed.

"Okay, fine, ground me, but when you find out it's not me who has it I want an apology." Y/N said as Nat stormed out of the room. He heard fumbling in the vents above him. "Come on out Uncle Clint."

Barton dropped down in front of Y/N and looked at him with a look meant for disciplining a child, but Y/N didn't care.

"Something I can help you with?" Y/N asked as Clint smiled for a moment before heading to the draw and grabbing the arrow from the roof of the draw.

"No. Not unless you wanna explain why you have this and why you're lying to your Mom." Clint said as Y/N sighed.

"You've been watching me this whole time haven't you."

"Yeah, I headed through the vents and watched you hide it but don't try to change subjects. I know you're the Vigilante."

"That's ridiculous, how could I be a vigilante?" Y/N asked trying to brush off what Clint said.

"So the same night we injure the Vigilante just happens to be the night your 'twisted ankle' plays up on you? I have kids of my own Y/N I know when a kid is lying to me." Barton said as Y/N sighed.

"Why do you care?  So what? Maybe I am Maybe I'm not at the end of the day why do you give a shit?" Y/N said, his use of a curse in front of Barton knocking the man back a bit.

"I care because my best friends son is going out of a night time and putting his life on the line." Barton admitted as he looked to Y/N for a moment. "Cut the bullshit, I know you're him."

"Like you, like Mom, like Steve, like Bruce, like uncle Thor, you all do that every day the only difference is no one knows who I am under the mask and hood. I'm looking out for the 'little guy' by helping the police fight crime." Y/N said as his door slid open and Natasha was stood there leaning against the door frame. "You can't stop me from doing this, I have to."

Nat looked at the boy she raised as her son, the boy she used to watch drink mint choc chip milkshakes at the local cafe, the boy she taught self defense to, the boy she loved as her own son.

"Y/N you have to stop, you're not some hardened vigilante. Your a boy with too much self hatred and anger at the world and you're rapidly getting out of your depth-" Natasha was interrupted by her phone, Fury was calling a meeting. "We have to go to work JARVIS, don't let Y/N leave the building. We'll finish this when we get back."

Nat ran away to the meeting alongside Clint leaving Y/N on his own in the tower, he headed to the living room and turned the TV on to watch the news. Half an hour later Y/N heard the door open and saw Maria Hill walk in with a load of paperwork.

"Your Mom asked me to keep an eye on you. So I'll be over here finishing this paperwork off while you stay within my sight at all times." Maria said as Y/N let out a sad huff.

"Of course she asked scary aunt to baby sit me." Y/N muttered under his breath before looking back to the news.
