Kate paused before lowering her bow, she nodded to Batman who seemed familiar, as they went to walk away she shot Fisk in the hand.

"He's not dead, but he'll have trouble using that hand again." Kate said as she walked to Y/N's body and picked him up, carrying him away to the car she used to get here and placed Y/N in the back seat before driving off to the Avengers compound, she was the last of her family, she now had no son, and no husband...

3 days later:

"Y/N Romanoff was one of the last remaining members of the founding Avengers, and today the world has one less hero in it. He started down his lifelong path when he was only 10, he fought alongside his mother and the other Avengers in the battle of New York and while he was certainly the youngest and least experienced, he was also the bravest, because not only did he have to worry about the lives of just his team mates, but the lives of his mother and uncle. A few years later when he was twelve, Y/N began down the path again, heading towards his destiny, he fought tooth and nail to keep the people of this city safe, a lifelong crusade, he saw many horrifying things, but none of them got to him, none of them corrupted who he was at heart, someone we can all aspire to be, someone who regardless of the personal cost, always did what was right for others, even if it meant sacrificing his own happiness. He was the embodiment of what we should all strive to be as Avengers, he was Compassionate, brave, heroic, wise beyond his years, devoted to his belief, a positive influence on the future generations, generous, most of all, he was merciful, he refused to take the lives of anyone, regardless of their crimes, he believed everyone deserved a chance at life. He was the best of us, he was more than just an Avenger, he was The Avenger. We'll never forget that, we'll never forget him." Kate said as she stepped away from the microphone, she was dressed in all black and sobbing, walking over to a table where Natasha and a few other Avengers were sitting, Natasha looked like she hadn't cried as much, but her eyes were still puffy.

When the service was finished both Natasha and Kate left, heading back to the compound and went back to work, distracting themselves. The rest of the team got back and they all looked broken, Y/N was always part of the team, he had there since day one, for some he was even the one who recruited them into the team.

Natasha and Kate both headed downstairs and gathered the rest of the team, they had a few more words to say.

Across the city the grieving Stacy's had returned home with Gwen going to her room with Peter following to support her, Captain Stacy headed to his small office and looked into his desk, he saw something and looked at it before a grin crept onto his face as he saw an emergency phone with a bowtie on it. When Gwen entered her room with Peter they saw two paper bags marked with their names, they opened the bags and saw that there were suits inside, both upgraded with tech that most people could only dream of.

Jessica returned to her office, the memories of when she taught Y/N, mentored him into becoming in her eyes, the foremost champion of the law, the worlds greatest detective, The Avenger. She looked to the desk where Y/N used to sit and noticed there was a glass of whisky already poured, it was her favourite brand of whisky as well.

The surviving X-Men returned to the ruins of the manor to see if they could rebuild it, as they approached, Xavier and Logan were the first to notice something, It was a box that only the X-Men could open. Charles scanned his finger on it and saw a new HUD pop up with plans and then a notice, Stark industries was now funding the X-Men unconditionally.

Pepper and Morgan returned home to see a parcel on their kitchen table. When Pepper opened the parcel up she looked inside and pulled out a piece of clothing with multiple stab wounds on it, she let out a smirk like she knew something.

When Natasha and Kate stepped out in front of the Avengers they all had bummed out looks on their faces. Kate however seemed totally fine, as did Natasha, neither of them seemed upset about Y/N's death, though they were definitely still grieving for David.

"Nat, I'm...sorry I couldn't-" Bruce said as he was interrupted by footsteps approaching from down the corridor. The whole team looked on edge about it until they saw the source of the footsteps, their faces dropped and their jaws hit the floor.

Kate smirked as she looked at him, Y/N Romanoff, stood there wearing his civilian clothes.

"Stab vests, can't beat the classics can you?" Y/N Said as Natasha smirked and Kate let out a toothy smile.

"Nat, you sure he's not your biological son, he managed to fool everyone here into thinking he's dead." Sam said as Y/N nodded.

"Not just you, the whole city. I'm sorry for lying to you all, putting you through so much grief, but I had to, to protect you all." Y/N said as Natasha walked up to Y/N and hugged him.

"I'm proud of you, son. I'm proud of you."

They had won, Fisk and the Scientist were sentenced to spend the rest of their lives in a prison in space, far beyond any hope of escaping, Batman took all of his universes criminals back to his universe. The City was saved...
