The next day Y/N was with Kate and David trying to relax after staying up all night looking into the killing, but something was bugging him, he went through all of the reports on the victims and found one pattern, they were all strangled by some sort of elastic material before they were shot. They were dead before they were shot, so why was the killer wasting the bullets.
Kate could see Y/N was thinking on it and took him out of the thought induced trance.
"Babe, you okay?" Kate asked as Y/N snapped to attention and looked at Kate like she was a stranger for a few moments before realizing what had happened.
"Yeah, yeah sorry. Just...um, thinking about something, this case it has me worn out from thinking." Y/N said as Kate nodded knowing he was working himself as hard as possible to catch this killer.

"Wanna go through it? A fresh perspective might help." Kate said as Y/N smiled.
'She really is perfect.' Y/N thought to himself.
"Alright, but not in front of David, we'll talk about it later." Y/N said as Kate smiled and gave him a nod. They went back to the compound and spent the day just enjoying themselves, David sat with Yelena and Peter while they watched the original Original Star Wars films, Y/N and Kate were training, or that was their excuse when they came out of their room sweaty and out of breath. Yelena just looked at them and shook her head with a smirk on her face.
Natasha walked into compound with Bruce and was talking about quantum physics with him Peter and Y/N listened to the conversation and understood everything they were saying while everyone else present was convinced they were speaking an alien language.
"Grandad Shrek." David said as he ran up and hugged Bruce, Y/N and Kate had a smirk while Yelena and Peter were laughing and Natasha just looked at Y/N with her eyebrows raised.

"I'm never letting him live that one down." Y/N muttered to himself just loud enough for Kate to hear and Peters enhanced hearing to pick up.
"Yeah, Granddad Shrek." Bruce said nervously as Y/N received a message telling him to go to Yuri's partners address immediately.
