"Stop lazing around everyone and get into your PE uniforms. Meet me outside." The teacher, who wrapped himself in a yellow sleep bag, laid on the floor.
"But teacher..." The girl with short brown hair spoke up, "What about the orientation??"
"The first day of orientation has nothing to do with our training. You all did sign up for the hero course, correct?" The seriousness tone in his voice echoed throughout the room, the students all nodded in unison. "Then get up and change. We're doing a Quirk Apprehension test."
Everyone all changed into our PE uniforms, luckily Yaoyorozu ended up in the same class as Yami which she was relieved of. "Hey Yaoyorozu!" Yami took the side of the taller girl, walking side by side.
"Hello Mei! It's nice to see a familiar face around," She commented as everyone reached the outside. It looked like a baseball field.
"Agreed," They stood by one another on the field. Todoroki was a good distance away from them, and from everyone. "What do you think we'll be doing in this apprehension test... thing?" Yami questioned as she waited for further instructions.
"Possibly to see how well our quirks work? Like a test of strength is what I assume this is going to be," She pondered as she placed a hand under her chin.
"All of you have been doing this since Junior high, correct?" Mr. Aizawa spoke up. Yami had not attended junior high, but she did conduct a similar test with the Commission. "Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your quirks. The country still uses the averages taken from the tests, but it's not rational." He only sighed, slightly annoyed.
His hands then pointed towards a certain blonde kid standing by the front of the crowd. "Bakugou, you placed first overall in the practical exams, right?"
The blonde only looked up, but Yami could see the backside of him and couldn't tell the expression he made. "In junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?"
She noticed his head dropped down, looking away from his teacher, "67 meters."
"Then, try doing it with your quirk. You're allowed to do whatever you want as long as your actions stay inside the circle." He moved his body to reveal the white circle before everyone. Bakugou stepped up, and was handed the softball. "Hurry up. Give it all you got."
"DIE!!!" Bakugou yelled as he threw the ball into the air using his quirk. A loud explosion filled the field, and everyone witnessed the ball fly out of existence. The meter that Aizawa had been holding made a sound.
Yami furrowed her eyebrows in disbelief, 'Die...?' she thought as she shook her head. Mr. Aizawa then showed the rest of the class what Bakugou got for his result.
705.2 meters.
Now that was impressive.
"Welcome to the U.A. Hero Course. Let's begin."

After a long and exhausting day of endless tests that seemed to have lasted the entire afternoon, it was now time to reveal the results. Aizawa mentioned that the last person on the charts would get an immediate expulsion, but it was nothing of Yami's concern. She was confident enough to know she had at least placed in the top 5.
At the end of the entire test, she found herself next to Todoroki, who still did not mind her company, but still was weary.
A long exhausted sigh slipped through her lips. "How'd you think you did?" She asked the boy, who was standing off to the side.
"Fine enough." He was tired from today as well. But he couldn't continue to leave her hanging, so he made small conversation with her. He wasn't used to it. "And yourself?"
