Bakugo fell to the ground face first.

The crowd roared with cheers for the remaining competitors. "And with that, the second round is officially over!"

Todoroki let out a relieved sigh and scanned who was left in his ice trap. Midoriya retreated his hand back with a frustrated look on his face.

Then his eyes fell back onto Yami, whose head went completely limp. Midoriya got off their hands and everyone was free to hold as support. Except for her.

She looked worse than before. Once Yami was released from her duties, she immediately fell to her knees in excruciating pain. Her teammates were the ones to quickly run to her aid.

Todoroki got off from his teammates and stepped onto the ground and witnessed the scene unfold. No one else from the rest of the other teams seemed to notice.

He kept his eyes on her silently.

"Mei! Oh my goodness you don't look well. I'm taking you to Recovery Girl!" She had her hand resting on her head that was probably aching with unbelievable pain. Uraraka helped Yami up to her feet. She was unable to make one sound.

"Probably from overusing her quirk," Midoriya commented and watched as Uraraka quickly guided Yami out of the arena.

Their team had placed fourth, which was good enough. They all would advance to the next round.

"Now that the round is over, let's all take an hour's break before getting to the fun part of the festival!"

Deep down, Todoroki knew that the reason for Yami's sudden change in character, strength, and exhaustion was not from overusing her quirk. It was from her sister.

And he needed to make sure that she was okay. Despite them not being on good terms, he started to feel the regret building up inside him for being so distant.

"Todoroki," He heard a voice come up behind him.

It was Yaoyorozu.

He hummed in response and turned his body halfway towards Momo, "Did you notice something off... about Yami?"

Todoroki shifted his gaze and noticed his teammate's eyes were glued to her friend as she was put onto a stretcher and Uraraka followed right beside her. Yaoyorozu's arms were wrapped around her stomach. She looked worried.

His eyes narrowed, mentally taking note of her change in attitude when it came to Yami. "Maybe I did."

The girl nodded, not making eye contact with him, "You're not the only one who takes note of these things." She turned away, her back facing Todoroki.

"She tells me information as well. I might not know enough as you do, but it's enough to show concern." And she headed for the exit, along with everyone else. "If you care about her, you should check up on her."

As much as he hated it, he knew he couldn't. But his subconscious was telling him otherwise, "We aren't on good terms right now."

"Does it matter? The least you can do is show that you care about salvaging your friendship before it gets worse." She still did not face the boy, but his expression was the same, he kept his hands to his side, observing his classmate in front of him. Todoroki took a moment to let the words seep into his skin.

She was right, he needed to put his childish attitude aside and his old man's wishes and save his friendship with the person he didn't want to lose contact with. It gives him a chance to try and sort his feelings out, maybe even come to a conclusion.

But Todoroki figured it was too early for that kind of thing, so he continued to suppress those unwanted feelings.

However, it made him wonder what Yaoyorozu knew about Yami; why she even bothered to make conversation with him about her condition. Whatever the thought was, he felt some kind of discomfort from within.
