"Oh, hey there kid," The number three Pro was met with Todoroki Shoto at their door. He had a gut feeling he would be there, even without warning from him. "Here to visit your girlfriend?"
He lightly teased as he let the boy in. Todoroki's expression was a bit taken aback at first with his sudden comment, but continued to think nothing of it. In response and trying to process the term 'girlfriend', he just blinked.
Now, Hawks was expecting Todoroki to automatically deny his teasing and continue on with the reason why he was present. But oh boy, did his next actions almost put him into cardiac arrest.
He thought Keigo meant the exact opposite of the actual definition of the word. So, Todoroki slowly nodded.
Poor boy thought he meant it in a friendly way.
And the look on Keigo's face was priceless. His expression went from all smiles to his jaw looking like it was going to fall on the floor. Keigo's eyes were wide open as he stood there, staring back in shock.
"Wait a minute, Todoroki—" He stood there with the same straight face he has every single day. In his mind, he was just as confused as Keigo's response to his so-called confirmation.
"You're..." He began to trail off, trying to say the phrases that were jumbled in his mind. It just wouldn't leave his damn mouth. Todoroki still stood there and hadn't taken his shoes off yet. "Are you seriously her boyfriend?!"
Again, Todoroki has heard of the term very briefly without context from his older sister, but never knew what it meant. He simply assumed it meant they were just friends.
Of course, he was wrong—completely wrong at the fact.
He then nodded thinking nothing of it.
He was finally able to take his shoes off and walked further into the hallway. As he did though, he noticed he wasn't being followed.
Todoroki turned around to still see Keigo in complete disbelief. His mouth was slightly closed but his eyes still stayed the same.
And he finally spoke up. "...Are you okay, sir?"
"Does it look like I'm processing this well?"
"I don't understand what you mean?"
Keigo exaggerated his blinks a couple of times, "You said that you guys were dating?! And I didn't know? She never told me this??"
As Keigo started to ramble about how his sister never spoke a word about this to him, Todoroki was once again processing his words. The term 'dating' was also quite familiar as he also heard it from his brother, Natsuo. He mentioned it a couple of times and he overheard some of the other girls in class speak about the subject. He was aware that it pertained to romantically dating.
As his response, Todoroki shook his head. "We're not 'dating', sir."
That took Keigo out of his rambling state. "But you just said you're her boyfriend?!"
"I am her friend. I don't know where you got the idea we're in a relationship, sir."
With that, Keigo was more confused than ever. He rapidly shook his head to try and clear his running thoughts.
He cleared his throat and gently led Todoroki to the living room. He didn't want to make more noise right outside of Yami's bedroom.'
"Todoroki, what do you think 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' mean?" Keigo made his way around the island counter so he was facing the opposite of the boy.
"A boy friend and a girl friend." He answered with a straight face.
He held his breath and continued, "You mean 'friends', right?"
