Equilibrium (Todoroki x OC)

Chapter 32

Yami's POV

I wasn't able to watch either Midoriya's match or Todoroki's due to the return of needing rest. Thank you Mori.

Todoroki understood my reasoning and after we finished speaking with one another he quickly left me alone to let me get some rest before my match.

Unfortunately, it was with Kaminari.

The second to last person I wanted to deal with. First being Mineta.

I sat comfortably in my chair inside of the waiting room, but my leg began bouncing up and down.

There was a monitor across the table and it signified the next match would soon begin.

I exited the room, making my way over to the entrance to the stadium. To be quite honest... I was slightly terrified.

The other obstacles were different because people didn't pay attention to an individual person as much—they would be focusing on the team at hand instead. Sure, there may have been some people keeping an eye on specific students.

But a one-on-one means everyone would be watching your moves very carefully. This would be the ice breaker for Pro-Heroes to see what the finalists are made of.

I was nervous but Mori definitely wasn't.

"Finally things are beginning to get good..."

I rolled my eyes.

As I made my way down the hall, I caught a glimpse of Todoroki walking in my direction. He was probably making his way back to the rest of the class.

He acknowledged my presence and gave me a small nod.

"Good luck." He wished as he walked past me.

"Yeah... thanks." I replied with uncertainty.

And now I was getting nervous around him. Great.

I found my way to the entrance to the stadium and patiently waited for my introduction.

Kaminari's was first, then it was finally mine.

"ALLLRIGHT FOLKS TIME FOR OUR NEXT INTRODUCTION!" I began fidgeting with my fingers as Present Mic started, "YOU KNOW HER FOR BEING THE LITTLE SISTER OF THE NUMBER THREE HERO: HAWKS!"

That was my cue. I nervously walked out from the tunnel to be met with a large, cheerful audience.

"SHE CAME IN SECOND PLACE FOR THE OBSTACLE COURSE AND MADE HER WAY TO THE TOP FOUR IN THE CAVALRY BATTLE... MEI KURAYAMI!"

The crowd was filled with cheers and shouts and it came from every single direction. I took my place on the platform, giving small waves to the people in the stadium.

Kaminari stood before me, stretching his arms out, getting ready for the fight.

But Mori was also preparing herself. She had lent me a little bit of her strength for this one, but ultimately decided to stay back because she 'didn't want to waste much of her time on that airhead'.

Which is a big relief and I won't have to worry about any drawbacks.

"Hey, how about we make a bet?" Kaminari started after he finished stretching, "If I win, I get to take you out on a sweet date!"

"See this is why I didn't want to deal with him. I would've used all my pent up anger out on him and it wouldn't be as fun of a fight."

"Alright... but if I win, you AND Mineta have to do anything I say. Got that?" Yeah, this was going to be an easy fight.
