Straight after school the next day, the pair would head to Todoroki's place to practice hand-to-hand combat training. Despite Yami already experiencing this kind of coaching, it would be nice of her to have a small refresher.

Plus, she wanted to see how good Todoroki was when it came to melee combat. After yesterday's performance, she was surprised at his strength and had high expectations for him for the sports festival.

But she was a bit saddened when he hadn't used his left side at all during the spar. She couldn't help but wonder why, but it would be with no doubt that it had to tie with his father.

She decided to not push for answers.

For Todoroki, she was stronger than he expected. Her quirk was like another living being inside of her, sometimes acting on its own when she wasn't in control. It was almost like a guardian of some sort, but it was only when she emitted it in the first place. He wondered what other kinds of situations she had been in where her quirk would move on its own.

He concluded it couldn't have been many, considering she was homeschooled for most of her life before U.A., which was what Todoroki was told. There wasn't any imminent danger around her; so there was no use of her quirk.

But in the back of his mind, he knew that she would be a challenge during the actual festival. Todoroki thought back to what his father told him.

He wasn't there to make any friends or to interact with his classmates. The boy's purpose was only to be used as a tool to surpass All Might. That's what he was created for and nothing else.

He knew that his old man would scold him if he ever found out that he was friends with someone whom he wasn't supposed to be around.

"Shoto," Endeavor approached his creation and looked down upon him. It was the day after the entrance exam and he lectured the boy when they arrived home. "Remember what I told you."

Todoroki didn't respond but glared at his old man with flames of hatred in his eyes. He didn't like what was going to say.

"What."

"You are to not interact with that girl. She is dangerous and does not need to tarnish my reputation."

Who the hell gave him the right to deem her dangerous? Based on Todoroki's observation of Yami, she was not near the level of danger his old man was worried about. He wondered what kind of situation made him believe such a thing. It was always him he concerned himself about, and never his son. How selfish.

Then again, he wasn't intending to be friends with anyone in the first place.

"I don't care what she does or says. I'm not befriending anyone." Todoroki's cold tone added to the tension between him and his father. Endeavor could only look down at his tool with a stern face.

He turned around to walk down the hall.

"She will be a challenge for you at the sports festival. Make sure you pass her level at whatever cost."

When Yami and Todoroki arrived at his household, he reassured the girl that his father wouldn't be home until later that night. Though, Todoroki warned her to stay away from his sister as well...for some unknown reason.

"Your sister? I didn't know you had siblings." She slipped her shoes off by the door, but her voice was so loud it caught the attention of a certain someone who was cooking in the kitchen.

"Shoto? Are you home-" Todoroki's sister, Fuyumi, appeared from behind the wall that led to another room. Her face turned to shock to see that her little brother had brought someone home. "Oh, hello there! I didn't know you would bring a friend over."
