With the sports festival coming to an end, it certainly came pretty quickly.
Todoroki was also knocked unconscious in his battle with Bakugo. Not long after, Midnight had to take matters into her own hands and the half-and-half was later transported to the infirmary.
When he finally woke up, he saw that Yami was still out. She had been ever since their fight came to a close. Nasty bruises and injuries partially covered her body, but Recovery Girl reassured the boy she'd be fine.
It made him wonder if the teachers ever noticed Mori's behavior. If not, then it could become an issue in the future.
She looked peaceful laying there.
"Young Todoroki, it's best to get going to the award ceremony." Recovery Girl spinned around in her chair to face him. "If you're worried about Young Mei, she will wake up eventually."
"Right," he got up from the edge of the bed and took one last, long look at his friend. His face stiffened and he made his way to the exit.
Yami had placed third for the entire festival; tying the spot with Tokoyami. Though, with her drawbacks after this incident, Todoroki wondered if she'll be able to even remember being in the sports festival in the first place.
If she ever were to wake up soon and have no memory of recent events, then she would probably surrender her placing and fully give it to Tokoyami. Hopefully it wouldn't be the case, is what Todoroki thought.
She worked exceedingly hard to get to where she is now. All that training would've been for nothing if she couldn't even remember it.
When he was trapped in his thoughts and on his way to his designated podium for his placement, he heard quick and faint footsteps growing closer to him. Out of curiosity, he looked up and recognized it was one of his classmates.
Yaoyorozu Momo.
She looked to be too focused on scanning the walls to even notice the half and half boy in front of her. When she finally took note of him, she slowed her pace.
"Yaoyorozu."
"Todoroki." Momo fixed her posture, "Has Yami woken up yet?"
His eyes narrowed at her question. His stern expression was difficult to read for others who didn't know him well. The only person who could possibly even get close to how he was feeling with that kind of feeling would be Yami.
"No. She hasn't,"
Yaoyorozu lowered her gaze and away from the boy before her in disappointment, "I see."
Short silence.
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see her for myself." She began walking past Todoroki who didn't move a muscle.
"Oh, and congratulations Todoroki. You did well out there." She didn't turn to face him. In the back of Momo's mind, she sided with Yami during their battle.
"Yeah, you too."
Momo's lips thinned and they both went their separate ways without another word. She hurriedly made her way to the infirmary to visit her friend and make sure she was holding up okay.
She finally reached Recovery Girls' room and softly knocked on the door. A few moments later, the nurse opened the door and she was quite surprised to see who had come and visited.
"Young Yaoyorozu? What brings you here?"
"I'm—I'm here to see Yami," Momo glanced into the room and instantly saw Yami lying there in bed unmoving.
"Oh dear, how many visitors am I going to get today," she said sarcastically as she let Momo into the infirmary.
She quickly made her way to Yami's bedside and held both her hands close to her chest. Her face was filled with worry as she scanned her friend's body—some parts had large bandages wrapped around them and some were just patches.
