"I lost sight of who I was until I found you."
I couldn't understand the trail of events that unfolded last night.
Within that time that I got to know Christian-Ian, my life got turned upside down.
I was never one to step outside my comfort zone and the moment I did, this happens.
That was the first time in my life that I witnessed two fights on the same day, and the second one left me speechless. I wasn't sure how two people that had just met could have that much energy in them to fight even after the security separated them.
I recalled shouting at them both, but they were too caught up in the heat of things to realize the consequences.
Now both Ian and my best friend spent the night in jail.
I let out a sigh as I got out of bed, mentally preparing myself for whatever awaited me today. My mind wandered back to last night.
Ian kept his eyes on me the whole time I tried to reason with Diego about how insane he was for reacting that way. It felt like a lost cause, his mind had been made up and there was nothing I could say that might change that.
No matter how many times I told him Ian had risked his life to save me.
There was this coldness in his eyes as he looked at me, shaking his head in anger. "Yeah, right." He muttered under his breath before they took him away in cuffs.
I was told I could go mid-day to bail them out. I wasn't sure what good bailing them out together would do me but I just really hoped it wasn't expensive.
But of course, like the recent events in my life, I was mistaken.
"2 grand?" I whispered aloud.
Looking over the bail paperwork the officer raised his brow. "He's had priors." He explains as if I knew any of that.
I tighten my grip on the paperwork, the papers crumbling softly under my touch. "Priors as in?"
He shook his head, "Look sweetie, you look like a good kid. I don't know what you owe this guy..." He paused. "This ain't your crowd to be mixed with."
I nodded, understanding what he was trying to tell me but I didn't have 2 grand on me. I was a college student living off whatever food I could afford by recycling. There was no way I could bail him out even if I wanted to. There was nothing I could use as collateral, I had no assets...
"What about Diego?" I asked.
He shook his head, "That one doesn't know when to shut up." He looks over to his computer typing in his name.
"Birthday?" He asks.
After I give him all the information he needs, he walks over to the same side where the printer was to see how much his bail would be.
The officer stops, scratching his head for a moment.
Just then someone else walked in and headed to the other open spot. It was a woman, with silver hair and big dark eyes. She gives me a small smile before turning back to the officer and continuing their conversation.
My officer walks back over to me with a confused look on his face. "Your friend Diego...he uh, he was already released."
"What?" I asked confused.
