There could be a list of reasons why you should never fall in love with Jay Park.
Probably even a whole group of females out there that have had their hearts broken because of him that could vouch for those reasons. Yet, blinded by a simple set of words, a look, a smile, it was a pattern I didn't know he had that made my heart flutter.
I could have sworn that everyone said he would never settle for being in love. That he fled from it, couldn't feel a thing at least not for a girl...that he would never fall in love. Yet that night, if it wasn't love...if what happened between us wasn't love...then I'm insane.
Because it felt like love.
I foolishly fell in love with someone I could never have but I blamed him.
I blamed him for being kind, telling me sweet things, and being there for me that night.
The night that everything changed.
I had always been near Jay Park but we had never been close, close enough to where we could hear each other's heartbeats, trace each other's scars... it just took one moment to change our whole relationship, for him to finally see me who stood in front of him for so long.
I was the assistant to his stylist, but I was always in the shadows. Never meant to be seen and for a while, that's how it was, a constant cycle of lurking in the shadows.
I was fine with it at first, it was my dream to be a stylist, and seeing him wear something I picked out was a dream of mine. You see at first all I had was admiration, I just wanted him to notice me. I never planned for whatever else that happened to happen.
I wasn't even sure why on that night he was out there.
I had been at the receiving end of a rocky relationship. My boyfriend who had been ghosting me for a while just so happened to be at the same restaurant where the AOMG crew was having a welcoming dinner for a new member.
We were leaving, the other staff and I that didn't have to attend the party when something caught my attention. My eyes widened at the sight of him, he was smiling so hard at the other person that I could feel the burning sensation in my stomach as I saw the interactions between him and whoever this girl was.
I drew closer but kept a distance, close enough to be able to hear what they were saying.
"Just admit it already, you're falling for me." I heard him tell the girl he was with.
I heard her chuckle softly, running a hand through her hair. ''Oppa, we can't, you have a girlfriend."
He scoffs, almost offended by what she said which I hate to admit hurt me. "You should be grateful that a guy like me with no intentions to stay with any girl ended up falling for you and plans on staying faithful." He's getting so hung up in himself that I want to hit him, no I need to hit him.
The anger is beginning to eat away at me.
"I thought you loved her, Woo." She tells him.
"I never did." He said it so easily, without an ounce of remorse. I squeezed my eyes shut in an attempt to calm myself down.
"You're a bad guy Woo Do-hwan." Her voice was playful like she was enjoying every praise and excuse he spat about our relationship.
"I'm running out of ideas to make you fall for me." He confessed, reaching for her hand. She doesn't move her hand away instead they link fingers.
"I got a few." She replies with a coy smile on her lips.
I look at the ground. "Scumbag," I mumble to myself, trying to keep it together, to keep myself from falling apart.
