I had always been in love with Yoongi.
But I had always been in the shadow of my best friend.
She was bright, charismatic, beautiful, kind, and pure. And Yoongi loved her, the way he loved her brings me to tears even til this day. No human being on earth could love the way he loved her.
But my best friend was a fool. She knew that because of the love he had for her that she could do as she pleased and get away with it. So she toyed with his heart til the very end. And even now that she no longer exists in the same world as we do the aftermath of what she did to us still has its effects to this day.
Because to this very day Yoongi is in a different place and time, doing different things, being with different people. If it hadn't been for his fame then I would have long forgotten what he'd look like.
But moving on was especially hard for me since I stayed in the same place, it was like time had moved on without me. This aging face and body were but a mere reflection in comparison to the pain that dwells in my heart.
I did everything because I had to, not because I wanted to.
I was merely living because I had to.
That was who I had become.
"Mika?" I turned my attention away from the book I was reading to a student who sat at the far back.
"Mmm?" I shut the book closed and walked over to my student while the rest of the class continued to read in silence.
Allowing myself to forget those painful memories.
Because I would never again see him.

"Can you believe it Mika?" My friend and coworker asked me. She had been going on and on for the past half hour as we walked home about how old we've gotten and how not so long ago did we attend the same school.
"I know." I pitched in as we entered our neighborhood.
"Nothing has changed much around here though." She counters. "Everyone just left, only a few of us including you and me stuck around."
I nodded. "You need to go out more though, I mean your about to be 23 and your still single." She giggled.
"I don't need anyone Marge." I muttered.
She sighed. "What about that guy?" She asked.
I flinched, purposely looking away so she wouldn't catch the sudden change in my features. "You know the one you always wrote to but he stopped replying." She trails off, I knew exactly who she was talking about, she didn't have to say much more other than that. "What was his name...hey didn't his girlfriend die in middle school?"
I stopped walking but she continued to talk. "He was such an asshole after that, man I hated that guy. How could such a pretty girl date such a douche bag?"
"No." I hissed. She stopped talking and finally took notice that I was no longer walking beside her and turned to face me.
"Mika?" She looked confused.
"He wasn't an asshole...you all hurt him...you all made him suffer." My eyes water and cheeks burn and suddenly my heart begins to race and the words that fall from lips don't make any sense after that.
"Mika?" Her voice softened up.
I shook my head and instead ran past her and ran for the direction of my house that was not too far from here, and as I ran the tears sprang free from my eyes blinding me momentarily to the point where I bumped into someone who caught me by the elbow.
I wiped my eyes mumbling about how sorry I was.
And when I looked up and the sunlight blinded me, I came face to face with the person I was shedding these tears for. And that glare of his suddenly softens up..."Mika, it's me."
