(This story is purely fictional.)
"I told her from the start, I'll break your heart."
It was when he first saw her that Jaewon knew nothing would ever be the same again.
I'm fucked, he thought to himself.
Watching her from a distance he shut his eyes, breathing deep, yes this was the feeling right, he thought? This was the feeling he's been missing out on for so long. Now that it had resurfaced he didn't want this chance gone.
And when he opened his eyes again there she was, on the other side of the cross walk. Waiting for the light to turn green. Jaewon smiles, she looks like a dream, and for some reason he wanted to grasp it.

My life was nothing special.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
My life wasn't worthy of a novel, or a movie. It was boring, a repetition of events. I'd been longing for something no matter how insignificant or small, whatever would do.
But never in my life would I imagine a boy with a smile as beautiful as his to unexpectedly show up.
More like we bumped into one another.
At first I hesitated to even speak to him, intimidated by his beauty. But when he caught my wrist and turned me around to face him again, my heart fluttered. No guy had ever held my hand, or even bothered to start a conversation with me for that matter but for some reason he did. And I don't know how he did it but he had managed to get my number out of me.
At first I lagged to text back or try and start any conversation for that matter. There was something about him that intimidated me. But when he showed up again across the street from my work at the same hour everyday just to walk me to the bus stop we ended up talking a lot more.
"Why are you in the states?" I'd ask.
"To study some English." At first I never really payed much attention to that.
Jaewon told me he was famous one night while on the phone, said he'd be competing on a rap show. While back home he called me every night, at least it was night over here. I'd end up staying up all night talking to him on the phone, while it was night over there he'd face time me or snapchat me.
I hadn't realized it yet but he'd changed the course of my life.
I looked forward more and more to the days when we would talk on the phone, sometimes I'd look up YouTube videos on the internet of his performances and read the comments on YouTube. I instantly regretted it though, because I only grew more discouraged, he was on a whole other level.
One day while I was at work at the factory I kept checking my phone for a text or a missed call but I still didn't have any. I'd grown more and more worried that by the time I was off work I was ready to call him again just to make sure he was alright.
But as we left, there was a classic parked up front and a tall handsome Jaewon was leaning against it, his hair blowing in the wind while he smirked.
