Time passed and so did everything around my life shift uncontrollably. But no longer was I the same person I used to be. I vowed to become stronger, to depend on myself and to be able to find happiness in the small things.

We were older now, years have passed on since then.

A small part of me still held onto this hope of maybe being able to see him someday but that was never going to happen because like I had once told him he was now among the stars, unreachable.

While I remained on this earth roaming the streets, lonely.

I preserved but it was at night when I was in pain. When I reached out for the image of him only to grasp nothing but the darkness.

"When will you come for me?"

I asked myself the same question every night for a while, but before I knew it I started to forget and place the memories deep down inside my heart.

It was silly of me to hold onto the past, because they called it the past for a reason and it should stay that way.

He was 26 years old now.

Every night on his birthday I'd walk up to the apartment we once shared and just stare at the window, watching the couple that now occupied the space where my happiness once resided. "Happy Birthday." I whisper.

I knew it wasn't healthy for me to do what I did, but I had to heal and that was the only way for me to.

But it was one night as I sat on my couch that I was looking through YouTube that a video caught my attention, Take care of you by Giriboy.

I regret it to this day listening to that because I knew who the song was about. What that song meant to him, and it crushed me.

It ripped open the wound and overwhelmed me.

I sobbed like a fool, "I'm sorry I left." I whisper to the boy in the music video.

It was cold that one winter night. Walking through the city as I held onto my coat, the bottom half of my face was nuzzled into a scarf. My eyes were focused on the pavement as I listened to his music.

I ended up on the block where Secret Society hanged around at. Alarmed as I approached I made a sudden halt and turned around to detour when a shoulder brushed past me. "Oh Si-young-ah!"

My heart raced, on instinct my eyes followed the shadowy figure, his back was facing me. But I knew it was him. I recognized him but at the same time he seemed so unfamiliar, no longer did he look like the guy in my memories.

This was a whole other person entirely.

His laughter was different, his smile was more mature and so was his speech. I hadn't noticed the tears streaming down my face but I immediately turned away and started to head back the way I came from.

My shoulder length hair couldn't shield my face as I walked further down so I pulled up my scarf. I heard footsteps approaching me and instantly felt my heart race. "Chogiyo?" (excuse me)

I stopped.

I felt a hand grasp mine, the warmth that it pulsated through my body sent shivers down my spine. "Did you wait long?" He asks.

I slowly turned around, my eyes widening as I stared at him, the new him. I hadn't realized how much more beautiful he'd gotten...he had matured so much that no longer was he that guy from my memories he was now a man.

"How did you?"

He smiles, that goofy smile that sends a rush of memories to mind. "How could I not recognize the girl I love?"

My eyes widen. "You still-"

He steps closer. "Always."

I shook my head. "I'm not good for you." I attempt to retreat back but he pulls me into his arms, holding me against him.

"I missed you so much." He whispers against my ear.

I can't help but hold him back now. "I'll take care of you." He promises.

Pulling his head back, he leans into my face and plants a kiss on my lips. "It's okay now." He assures me and it was then when all the pain surfaced and escaped in tears. Tears he wiped clean as he pressed his lips against my own.

I wanted to believe him.

I had to.

He never gave up on me. "I'll make you happy." He murmurs against my lips.

I only had one life.

And in this one life I wanted to give him all of me.

Even if I was left with nothing for myself.

I starred at him, my eyes looking over his face. That smile that I loved was once again starring back at me and it comforted me.

All the pain was worth this forever with him.

"Thank you for loving me." I say.

With wide eyes, I stroke his cheek as he blushed and pulled me into his arms once again.
