Karl and Sapnap were sat on their couch in their apartment watching some random horror movie that was on TV, and to be honest neither of them were actually paying any attention to it, minds hung up on their roommate's recent disappearances.
Sap was leaned back in the middle of the couch with his legs spread apart, and Karl sat in between them. The two were supposed to have a big stream today with George, but he said he canceled on the two lovers last minute, so Karl and Sap were stuck with nothing to do.
Sapnap was lost in his own head wondering why on earth George had begun abandoning them on such short notice with no semblance of a real explanations. Earlier that morning when Sapnap came downstairs, he was greeted by Karl, the two weren't yet aware that George was gone and had simply assumed he was asleep because his sleep schedule is far beyond repair. It wasn't until noon that the two decided they might be overdue to wake up their friend so he would be ready for their stream at one but were shocked to find his room baren. Karl called George in a panic, sure he had canceled on them a lot recently, but never without at least telling them, even if it was as he was running out the door.
Sapnap thought over the call as the two sat on the couch in silence, his roommate's words playing on repeat as he tried to decipher what was going on. "I- I gotta go guys, listen it's really important- I'll make it up to you sometime soon. Uh- bye!" George hung up, not leaving time for questions or any further conversation. 'What the hell is happening, and why did George sound so... pressed?'
No matter how hard he tried, Sap's thoughts never veered from the subject for too long, even though it was now approaching two o'clock. A high-pitched scream on the show the two were 'watching' snapped him out of his thoughts with a jolt, Karl jumping as well at the sudden loud noise. Apparently neither of them had been paying much attention.
With the two's trains of though being thrown off their tracks, Sapnap decided to ask his boyfriend if he thought it would be a good idea to call George back.
Karl seemed to be on the same page, and after three rings George picked up. "Hey guys, sorry I left in such a hurry. I wish I didn't have to miss our stream today; I was really looking forward t-"
"Bull." Sapnap interrupted. He knew George cared about them, but he really didn't care about the stream, it was there in his voice. There was some reason why George left and didn't want to tell them, and Sapnap was not content with waiting for the man to decide to tell them the truth.
"Excuse me?"
"Thats bullshit, and you know it."
"I don't know what you're talking about, Sap."
"There's something happening that you aren't telling us."
"I don't- you're- you're not-"
"It's ok George, you don't have to tell us, just try not to disappear without letting us know first, we were worried." It was Karl who interrupted George this time, his voice softer than his boyfriend's, though his tone left the implication that he wanted George to confide in them.
George sighed and Karl could hear George running his hands down his face, something he only did when he was overly stressed, "Okay, I promise. But it's not ok, not yet, at least."
"What do you mean?" Sapnap cut in, more concerned than he had been moments before.
"Just don't worry about it, I'll explain when I come home, I swear. Just... give me some time." He mumbled the last part under his breath, though he made sure it was loud enough to be audible to his roommates.
"How long is 'some time'?" The ravenette male pressed, squeezing his boyfriend's hand just a bit harder than he had been.
"I'm... I'm not sure yet, it's hard to say." George spoke softly and with thought, and Sap could tell he wasn't lying this time, though he wasn't entirely certain that was any better.
