Alex POV:
I slump back in my seat, wiping my forehead dramatically and letting my lip quiver.
"Chat, chat please, don't let him bully me." I wipe away a fake tear and looking absolutely indignant at the old camera of Sapnap's that we'd set up about 30 minutes into the stream. Karl had bought foundation to cover up the bruises that hadn't yet faded, and while the camera had made me anxious in the beginning, I had quickly realized that I deserve a medal for my acting skills.
I keep up the act of victim for a while, antagonizing Sapnap relentlessly, to entertain chat, if nothing else. "Wha- no! I didn't do anything, what did I do? Chat, common!"
"Sap, there were plenty of witnesses, you aren't winning this." I whisper into the mic, letting a few giggles slip.
"Okay, just to clear things up chat; I was joking!"
"Why would you joke about something like that? That is simply not funny." Oh, so now George decides to chime in.
"Yeah Sapnap," I spit his name as though it's a curse, as if it burns my mouth to say. "you hurt my feelings."
"Okay, chill. You joke about selling drugs all the time, why is it not okay if I tell chat you're a drug dealer? I was literally going off of YOUR JOKE."
"Me? No, never. I wouldn't."
"Bu-"
"And I will not stand by and let you bully me, by accusing me of trying to sell drugs." I state, matter-of-factly, interrupting Sapnap. It takes all of my strength to not laugh, but again--award winning level acting skills.
"FOR THE LAST TIME, IM NOT-"
"Ah, yes." A new voice mumbles into the call. "Sapnap trying to buy drugs and bullying people." The person sighs disappointedly before continuing. "Every time I join a call, I swear."
An explosion of laughter is heard throughout the call, and I hear a kettle in the background.
"Hey, someone's kettle is going off." If I hadn't been living with George for all this time, I might not have recognized the sound, but there it was, very clear from someone's end of the call.
The laughing cuts off for a second, as people process, but the kettle only gets louder, and the laughter is back in full force, as if a realization hit everyone but me at the exact same time. What was so funny?
"Tha- that wasn't-" George's laughter filled attempt at a sentence is interrupted by the kettle, which ends after a moment and is followed by an obnoxiously loud cackling noise.
"Q... that was Dream." George almost sounds embarrassed, but for me or him, I can't tell. And, of course, this only adds to the howls emitted by everyone in the call.
Alex had heard of Dream before from his roommates but had never spoken to him in person. From what he had heard, him and George were dating, although not everything Sapnap says is true.
"Ohhh! George's boyfriend!" I raise my eyebrows in realization, and the look on George's face is priceless.
"WHA-" George gasps out so loud that it sounds like his mic cut our at the sheer volume.
And Dream the tea kettle is at it again.
