3rd Person POV:

Alex stumbled back at the sight of the world blending. He stared in awe at it for a moment, frozen with fear, before his fight-or-flight response kicked in, and he ran. Ran from the blur, ran from the dream, ran from Sap, ran from the pain.

He ran until his lungs ached, he ran until breathing felt like torture, he ran until he couldn't run anymore.

The swirling void was going to catch him, and he didn't care.

He has nothing left to live for. But why? Alex tried his best to remember the answer to that question, but came up empty.

Why doesn't he have anything to live for?

What made his life so miserable?

Then it hit him. It hit him like a brick wall.

Not real.

'This must be a dream, because... because he's not real.'

Tears well up in his eyes.

Not real

Not real

Not real

And to think...

You were falling in love

'What?'

The boy's running slowed to a stop, this is a dream, so why does death matter?

'I-I wasn't in love'

The voice scoffed.

Naive

Naive

Naive

'Shut up'

Now his head was really swirling. Was he naive? Was he in love? He couldn't have been! You can't fall in love with someone, who isn't even real! Right?

So this one was a bit longer, but was still not my ideal word count. I would love to do a few chapters that are 1k words, but I don't know when that'll fit into the story.

Thank you so much for reading!

Remember to take care of yourselves!
