Hey guys, I just found out that Sapnap is uncomfortable with people other than friends and family using his real name, so I'm going to go back through and change out where I've used his name, and from now on will only use 'Sapnap'. Sorry if it sounds a tad redundant, I'm just trying to work within people's comfort zones.

Also, I literally know nothing about hospitals and medical procedures, so I apologize if anything I have said, or will say is wildly inaccurate.

3rd Person POV:

"Is something wrong?" Sapnap rushes out as soon as he gets the call. Granted, he didn't actually get the call, George did, but Sapnap beat him to the phone and George just so happened to be feeling nice enough to let him answer the phone.

"Is this George Davidson?" The man on the other side of the phone asks, ignoring Sap's question.

"No, he's right here, but this is Sapnap, my name should be in your records or whatever." Sapnap replies, putting the phone on speaker just as George walks up and Karl enters the room.

"... Alright... that checks out!" The man draws out the first word, checking the list at the same time, then happily spits out the rest, confirming Sapnap is legit. "Alright, Mr. Sapnap, you may want to sit down."

The roommates share a worried glance, hearts pounding. Sapnap's mouth goes dry, and George has to ask: "Hi, this is George, is something wrong with Alex?"

"Oh, hello sir!" The man chirps. "Are you all sitting down?" The three make eye contact again and George just shrugs, sitting on the floor, the other two following moments after.

"Yes." Karl says after a moment. "This is Karl by the way, my name should be down too." He rushes out last minute.

"Okay, hello, sir! I have some news for you, regarding your friend who is staying with us, Alex." The man says, almost slowly, as if he were taunting the three with the knowledge that he has, and they don't. "He's awake."

A moment of silence. But the moment is broken by a strangled 'what?' from Karl and Sapnap, George in a shocked silence.

"We'll be there." George says, voice flat, but already having grabbed his keys, phone from Sapnap, and begun walking over to the door.

Karl manages to mumble a thank you to the man before George takes his phone, hanging up. In mere seconds the three are in George's car, George at the wheel, Karl in shotgun (because he has a permanent shotgun pass that he keeps in his wallet, Sap made it for him for his birthday), and Sapnap having the backseat to himself.

It takes boarderline 20 minutes to reach the hospital, George speeding a bit at some points, but that's irrelevant. They are going to see Q and that's all that matters.

Alex makes it very difficult for the doctors to do any tests. They try to make sure he wasn't majorly affected by the coma, but he screams for his friends, he thrashes and asks too many questions, well, he was, until the doctors said they may have to sedate him. That shut him up. But, silently, the questions in his mind only build. 'Where are they?' And various combinations of the question chases away any other thoughts in his mind, hoping that they are okay, wondering why they aren't there, why they haven't saved him, hugged him, came to his aid. But... they aren't there.

'What is going on? We're they real?'

Alex tries his best to cut off the question before it forms, but is unsuccessful. He doesn't know what he'd do if they weren't real, if they were another figment of his mind. If he awoke in a world without them.

He knows this world is real, he feels the true weight of the world on his limbs, the pounding of his heart, the flutter in his breath when the fire opens. False hope. Lastly, he sees his reflection, he catches it, just barely, in some machinery and if he doesn't look f*cked, then no one else ever has. He's a mess, hair jumbled and falling in tangled piles over his head, bags under his eyes large enough to carry your local grocery store, despite the excessive amount of sleep he's gotten. And, finally, his skin. He's pale, he looks dead. But he isn't.

And if he's alive, and this is real, then... 'where are they?'
