A week passes as we continue to stay in Wakanda. The first couple of days allowed us to heal and recover from the battle. Hawkeye returned to his family and Rhodey back to the states after a couple of days while the rest of us remained.
Being here has given Steve and I a chance to spend time together. During the days we wander around the villages and explore, sometimes alone or with others such as Sam who can be like Steve's shadow at times.
Yesterday Steve and I got to spend an afternoon alone together with some of the locals that he had met on one of his visits here to see Bucky. I watched as Steve played a game with some of the children. He chased them around and at one point they all jumped on him at once.
My heart completely melted as I watched. He would make a good father one day.
As he played with the kids, some of the women taught me how to make some flat bread.
Steve walked over to us when I was stretching the dough out. As he sat next to me I handed him the piece I was working on and showed him what to do.
We left after sunset and took our time walking back to the citadel hand in hand. He told me about his childhood and life before the serum, and I told him about mine.
I was grateful for the down time that we had here to get to know each other more. We ended the evening by having sex, taking our time as are bodies meshed into one.
When we woke up today we had a lazy morning getting up and starting our day. I have plans to meet with Nat, Wanda and Shuri for lunch which I'm looking forward to since it'll just be us.
"What are you planning to do with your day while I'm gone?", I ask Steve as I brush out my freshly curled hair.
"I actually have plans with Bucky and Sam today", he says with a smile.
I stop and look over to him, "He's done with recovery?", I ask him.
After the fight happened Bucky woke up free from the brainwash that Hydra had on him. He's spent the last couple of days recovering and taking it slow. Steve's been visiting him often and bringing me back news of how his friend is doing.
It always warms my heart whenever Steve talks about him. His eyes light up and I get a glimpse of the 1940s Steve that I saw in the museum.
"Yeah he's all done, Shuri told me that he's free to start his life now. I'm hoping that he'll come back with us when we leave tomorrow", he tells me.
"I hope he does too. Not only for your sake but also because I haven't actually gotten a chance to meet him yet", I say as I realize this.
He furrows his eyebrows, "That's right you haven't. Don't worry you will soon, I've been telling him a lot about you and he's excited to meet you", he says casually.
I look over at him and smile, "You've been talking about me?".
He stands up and walks over to me, "I can't help but talk about you", he says before kissing me.
"Well I'll take that as good news", I say against his lips. "You certainly should", he says giving me another peck. "But I gotta get going sweetheart, I'll see you tonight".
Once he's gone I finish getting ready and head over to to the north side of the palace where we are having lunch. When I walk in there is a big oval table already filled with food where Wanda and Nat are sitting. Behind them are huge windows that overlook a waterfall. The view is absolutely breathtaking.
"Oh my god that view is beautiful", I say out loud in awe as I go to sit with them.
"Isn't it? I feel like a princess sitting in here", Wanda says looking around at the waterfall. "Speaking of princess where's Shuri at?", I ask them.
