"And that's all of the premonitions that you've received since last night?" Fury asks me as he faces the glass windows in his office.

I've been to the Shield headquarters before, but this was the first time I was inside of his office. I'll have to say it's impressive, I guess being the head of Shield had its perks.

"Yes", I reply while I fidget with my necklace.

He turns to look at my aunt and they seem to exchange a whole conversation simply through their eyes.

I was tired of being left in the dark when it came to my premonitions and Shield. They always take all of the information that I gave them, and then my role would be done.

"Could you both for once actually tell me what's going on? I can tell just from your faces that you know what the glowing blue box was in my vision. Considering the fact that I'm the one seeing everything in my head I should at least know what it is", I state firmly, staring them both in the eyes determined to get them to answer me.

Fury looks me dead in the eyes and says in a bemused tone, "Well Rosaleen, today's your lucky day. Because not only are we going to tell you what the 'glowing blue box' is but we are going to take you to it".

Well shit. I didn't see that coming.

...

We walk into a giant lab room filled with equipment, scientists, and security, and at the heart of the room is the glowing blue box I saw in my vision. I can feel the magnitude of energy and power that it possesses, and in some strange way I feel drawn to it like it's calling to me.

I must have been staring at it for a while because Fury draws me out of my trance when he says, "It's captivating to look at isn't it".

I nod quietly keeping my eyes on the box seemingly unable to tear my eyes away.

"So, what do you want me to do with this thing now that I'm here?", I finally ask as I turn to him.

"Before we begin, Rosaleen I want you to meet Professor Selvig. He's been consulting us on the tesseract since he not only is a theoretical astrophysicist but he's had some dealings with some out of town visitors we had a while back, you know which ones".

So that's the name of the blue box...

I smile and nod at him, before Fury continues his introductions.

"And up there in his crow's nest is Agent Barton. We call him Hawkeye for a good reason. Rosaleen here is going to hopefully shed some light on the situation at hand and help us get an insight as to what we might all be facing".

"The kid is going to help us? How?", Professor Selvig asks in a clearly doubting tone.

The guy is over here examining a magic blue box that is connected to mythical gods without question but sure let's question a normal looking young adult with powers because that seems bizarre.

Right before I can make a rude comment back to him, Fury interjects sensing my annoyance before I can say something. He knows me well enough to know that I can have a temper.

"Rosaleen, why don't you get started and show Professor Selvig why you're here". Fury nods towards the Tesseract.

The closer I walk up to it the more I can feel it consume me from the inside. I've never felt anything quite like it before. It's as if it was a missing part of my being that I didn't know was absent from me until this moment as I stare into the heart of it.

I extend my hands out to it. Sometimes in order to receive a premonition I need to touch something, and since I haven't received anything from looking at it, I decide to touch it.
