Chapter 8: Lightning Strikes

"And then what happened?", Wanda urges me to continue the story.

"Well we apologized and then came back here to have dinner with you guys and that's about it", I finish.

"Hmm... he was watching the video with Peggy? You know it might not mean that he's still in love with her he could have gone in there for another reason?", she says encouragingly.

I give a sarcastic laugh, "Yeah I doubt that. But even if he wasn't still in love with her that doesn't mean that he would want me."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. He seemed flirty with you today during training. When I talked to Nat earlier she told me that he was adamant on becoming your trainer. And even she suspects that he likes you too, I mean he does stare at you a lot especially during dinner tonight".

"Well I guess I'm not going to know for sure until something happens or doesn't happen", I say not wanting to get my hopes up.

But what if they are right about Steve...

I start to stand up from her bed where we were sitting and talking.

"I'm going to head to bed now because I know Caps got another full day of training for me in the morning", I say to her.

"Oh I'm sure he does", she says with a knowing smirk.

I say my goodbyes and start walking towards my room.

I decide to take a shower before heading to bed. As the hot water runs over me, I let it wash away the day's events and thoughts of Steve. When I get out, I wrap a towel around me and walk into my room to change. As soon as I drop the towel the door opens.

"Hey Rosaleen, are you in I- ", Steve stops dead in his tracks.

We both just stare at each other for a second, then Steve's eyes start traveling down my body.

I watch him as he goes over my figure, and I'm not stopping him from looking. I like him admiring my naked body.

"You know Cap if you wanted to see me naked again all you had to do was ask", I finally say smirking at him.

"Oh my god Rosie I am so sorry!", he says snapping out of his trance.

He closes his eyes fast and turns to run out.

"Wait!", I call having already picked up the towel and wrapping it around me, "you can open your eyes now", I say.

He slowly opens his eyes and then fully looks at me, "Rosaleen I am so sorry! I never should have just barged inside. I never thought you would be naked, I should have knocked or something".

"Well, as we both know by now, these types of things happen", I say with a smile, "What did you stop by for anyways?".

"Oh. I was just going to talk to you about tomorrows training plans... but um I- I can't seem to remember what they were right now... I'll see you tomorrow", he finishes and then quickly leaves.

I stand there for a second trying to process what just happened. I feel my face grow hot when I remember how he looked at me... He had a look of lust and desire on his face, and I know that's what I certainly felt too.

I fall asleep eventually after replaying the look on his face repeatedly in my mind.

My eyes pop open fast as I realize that I fell back asleep after hitting the snooze button.

Shit!! I'm going to be late for training! Steve's gonna beat my ass if I'm late!

I scramble around trying to get ready as quickly as possible. I throw on black leggings and a matching sports bra before running out the door.
