"Steve", I say with meaning as I try to get him to tell me the truth.
He squeezes my leg with his hand before turning back to the group.
"Rosie why don't you go try it?", Wanda asks me.
I shake my head quickly, "Noooo! Because I'm going to get insulted when I can't lift it", I laugh.
"It does sting", Sam states as he eyes the hammer as though willing it to lift simply from his stare.
"Why don't you go?", I quietly ask Bucky next to me.
His eyes shift over to mine, "That's something I already know the answer to", he says with undeniable sadness in his voice.
I regret my words as I realize that he of course doesn't think he's worthy because of his past.
I can't find the words to comfort him at the moment, so I press my leg against his.
He glances down at it before meeting my eyes again and nodding as he acknowledges my unspoken words.
I wish I could say more to him, but it's not the right setting at the moment.
With no more attempts at the hammer, Thor confidently saunters over and effortlessly lifts the hammer even giving it a flip in the air as he informs all of us that we are all simply not worthy.
Clint and Sam boo him as he cockily takes his seat again.
After a while of us talking, some of the group starts to venture off to bed, eventually only leaving me, Thor, Nat, Sam, and the super solider boys remaining.
"And then that's when he stabbed me. We were eight at the time", Thor says finishing his story.
"I'm sorry what? Your brother stabbed you when you guys were children?!", I ask baffled.
"Oh Rosie, you didn't meet his brother. I believe it", Nat says shaking her head as she remembers Loki.
"Too bad I missed all the fun back then", I joke.
Sam looks over to me after I say this, "I'm surprised your aunt didn't let you help out".
"Well that wasn't really the reason, my being kidnapped was", I bluntly respond.
The others become quiet after I say this, and Steve squeezes my leg with his hand providing comfort if I need it.
I smile at him nonverbally telling him I'm fine, before my eyes glance over to Bucky and again see that intense gaze of his.
It's as though his eyes were questioning if I knew what he did about that time in my life. But the truth is, I only know a small fraction compared to him.
"Oh, right sorry about that..", Sam replies awkwardly.
I turn and smile at him, "It's fine, I don't care".
"Well if you had been with us Lady Rosaleen then the day would have been ours much sooner", Thor says.
"Actually I didn't have as many powers then so I wouldn't have done that much", I inform him truthfully.
"Even without your powers, your combat skills and stubbornness would have been enough", Steve teases me as he bumps his leg into mine.
"Wow coming at me about my stubbornness? You're one to talk Captain Blue Eyes", I tease back.
"I am not as stubborn as you sweetheart", he replies with a twinkle in his eyes. I know that he's trying to get me to make me debate this with him to prove that I am more stubborn than him, and more a spilt second I'm about to give in.
