Chapter 10 - Return
After dark, the cloaked horseman takes off from the abbey at a gallop. Riding behind him - with another cloak - is a young man of eighteen. After them is another horse with two horsemen on it.
They arrive at a castle after an hour and dismount from the horses, which are taken by the horsemen to the stables. The first horseman and the young man walk into the castle. When they reach the main hall of the castle they are greeted by some servants, and by some family members. The family members come forward and hug the young man, making small talk as they make their way to the dining hall of the castle.
The dinner lasts for some time and there is an atmosphere of celebration. A special dinner has been laid on and the young man is made to feel welcome. When he tells some stories of his time at the abbey, they laugh. As the young man speaks, the horseman who brought him back watches him with quiet, smiling eyes. The young man notices this and flashes him a grin.
The feast finishes late and they all go to bed. The horseman who had been watching the young man hears footsteps outside his room and then a light knock. When he opens the door, the young man pushes his way in and closes the door behind him.
