Chapter 26: Knights' Temple

Having left Zoroastria and gone to the Knights' Temple, Fillun was now on his own. Bonnar had returned to his estate in Cavonia. However the two horsemen had come with him: Ross and Tarn.

Fillun was a little bit apprehensive about his new location and training, but he wanted to give all of his energy and strength to training well, and getting through its successfully, so that he could build up to taking back the kingdom.

Adjoining rooms for him and the horsemen on either side of him, meant they could visit and talk easily. While the relationship between the two Horsemen was understood at the Knights' Temple, it was not official and not approved of.
Fillan had a very busy time table, doing horse-riding, jousting (which is a form of fighting on horseback), reading and writing, study of past Wars and Battles, and History.

The idea was that Knights who graduated from the training in this temple, would have received a well-rounded education, and would be good knights, but also well behaved and able to hold the prestigious role in society that knights held at that time.

In addition, knights in training were expected to be able to run five miles (8 km) per day, and keep in very good physical shape. They were also expected to practise lifting heavy objects, to ensure they could lift things like cannonballs when in battle. There was also a portion of training based on the sea, where they would learn sailing.

Fillun was fascinated with all his training and was making good friends with a number of knights in the temple. Because of his Ross and Tarn, training with him, it was easier for him to feel safe and secure.  However it wasn't felt that it would be appropriate for Bonnar to during training so as not to raise suspicions. At this point in time, the only people in he Knights' Temple who were aware of Fillun's identity, were Ross, Tarn, and the Chief Knight.
