Chapter 28 - At the Knights' Temple

Fillun, Ross and Tarn had become firm friends while performing their knight's training. Fillun had already decided that he wanted them to become his personal bodyguards in the new Velastrian National Army that he would form as king.

They were in Fillun's room one evening, chatting and joking. When they did this they always put a protective wooden beam across the door so that no one could get in. Then Ross and Tarn could be affectionate and there was no danger of discovery.

"Bonnar has invited me to his estate to stay for a few days. Of course I wouldn't be safe without my bodyguards so I guess you'll have to come with me," said Fillun.
"Oh we're your bodyguards now?" asked Ross, smiling.
"I think he feels safer with family like us," observed Tarn.
"Well we do appreciate that your grandmother has paid for our training, that is really to be appreciated," said Ross.
"Hear, hear," said Tarn.
Fillun looked at them smiling but intently. "I want you to be part of the new Velastrian National Army when it is formed. What do you say?" he asked.
"Yes, your majesty" they both replied, smiling.
The three high-fived on it and each went back to his room to sleep.

"No! Please don't die!" Fillun shouted. He woke up from his nightmare, one that was recurring frequently. He wished he had Bonnar to hold him.
"Is everything ok?" he heard through the door, Ross speaking.
"Yes, just a bad dream, thanks, go back to sleep Ross" he replied.

Fillun lay awake for a while, thinking about the future. He spoke in a low voice to himself, planning how his life would be.
"I will be King, Bonnar the leader of my army, and we will live happy in the palace with my grandmother." He smiled at that thought and soon went back to sleep.
