Chapter 30 - Sailing the seas

The Knights who were in training had finished the portion of training on land, and had moved to a coastal town, where they would undertake training in sailing.

There were several boats owned by The Knights, and the trainee Knights would work side by side with experienced knight sailors.

Bonnar had been invited, as an experienced knight with very specific skills on the sea, to participate in the knights' training. For the next six weeks, they would live side-by-side and take excursions of a several days at a time on a sailing boat. While on the boat they would be exposed to all type of task including cleaning, cooking, and most of all, sailing.

The training went well, and all were happy to learn that they had passed their training successfully including the sailing portion. At this stage they were to return to the Knights Temple, where their families would come to visit and join in the celebration of their graduation ceremony as fully fledged Knights.

Fillun was very excited to know that his grandmother would be present. Because his public status was not known in the Knights' Temple, it was being explained that the Queen Mother was invited as a special guest given that some of her family had become Knights through their training at the Temple, and she was returning for old times sake.

In addition, Bonnar would be a guest of honour as one of the leading knights who had previously graduated from The Knights temple.

While Fillun would be one of the knights to graduate as part of the ceremony and become a knight, he would not receive any extra honors or special recognition for being part of the Royal Family.

It was felt that from a security perspective there would not be anything to be gained from announcing his status before he could plan the new national Army and the things he needed to do to take back his Kingdom.

At this stage it was really important that his status should continue to remain a secret, with the only people knowing being his bodyguards, Bonnar, his grandmother, and the chief night.

The day of the graduation saw a number of ceremonies and, followed by a luxury banquet, in which the newly graduated knights and their families took part.

The Queen Mother was also in attendance, and so was Bonnar. It was difficult for Fillun not to go over and hug both of them, but it had been agreed in advance that this would be a bad idea.
In order for them to spend some time together it had been decided to go spend a few days once more in Zoroastria, where all could spend time in each other's company, freely, and without concern about public perception.

After a few happy days spent in Zoroastria, during which they had begun to make plans, it was agreed that the three new knights would go to Cavonian and spend some time on Bonnar's estate for privacy. There, they could plan the beginning of the return to power. The Queen Mother returned to the capital to continue her reign as the current monarch.
