Chapter 15 - Alone together
After breakfast, Bonnar went out riding with Fillun. When they were returning the horses, he took Fillun to speak in his study.
"I have to leave for a few days, Fillun, I'm sorry" he looked at him with sad eyes.
"Where are you going?"
"I have to go to my house in the mountains for a few days. I need to rest a bit. You understand, don't you?" he asked.
"But what will I do alone? You know you're supposed to be protecting me. " Fillun looked at him with a mixture of annoyance and envy.
"Then you'll have to come with me, won't you?" teased Bonnar, grinning.
"You ... " he began to laugh but his laughter was smothered by Bonnar reaching in for a kiss.
He pulled him in closer and their tongues met, their embrace becoming passionate.
Bonnar broke off for a second as he heard a sound in the passage way. They were both still nervous about being found as they hadn't decided what to tell the castle staff, or Bonnar's cousins who lived on the estate.
The footsteps that were passing continued on their way. They resumed their kiss.
"I'll have to make you pay for that," said Fillun, looking at him with a devilish grin.
"Oh! What will you do to me?" asked Bonnar, in mock shock.
"Just what I did last night. All night and all day. How's that sound?" asked Fillun, now looking even more devilish.
"Well I suppose, if you have to," teased Bonnar.
They kissed again. There was a knock at the door.
"Who is it?"
"Only us, sir. We need to make plans with you," called the voice from the other side of the door.
"Come in, then," said Bonnar, putting his finger to Fillun's lips. He grasped Fillun's hand and held it fast as the two horsemen came in.
"That soon after he came home?" asked one of the horsemen, grinning.
"That soon," answered Bonnar, grinning.
The four laughed and the conversation went on from there.
