Chapter 8: Spidey-Senses

Maria hated to be that bitch but she had to be the one to say it. She had never been inside a school bus in her life, and honestly it was not her best experience. If she knew how uncomfortable and annoying it would be she would have told Peter she would meet him there and drove to Washington D.C. herself. Then again, Maria didn't like driving long distances and at least she got to spend time with Michelle.

Speaking of Michelle, Maria had decided to sit next to her much to Peter's expense who thought they would be sitting together until he turned around to see Maria taking a seat next to Michelle leaving Peter to sit by Ned.

Michelle and Maria had talked for a few minutes before Michelle told her she was going to read her book which Maria didn't know how she could without getting car sick. Maria then decided to pop in some headphones and some dark sunglasses and decided to take a nap. Being around so many hyperactive kids who had loud thoughts was sending Maria's telepathy into a frenzy so she decided to distract her mind with music.

Maria figured at some point she fell asleep because she woke up to Michelle shaking her shoulder to tell her they were here. Maria slowly stood as she stretched her arms back yawning as she did so, recoiling back when she felt her hand smack into something.

"Um, ow," Maria turned around ready to apologize before realizing she had just smacked Peter in the face and she just smirked in return.

"Oh Peter didn't your spidey senses tell you I was going to hit you?" Maria questioned as the two walked out of the bus with Michelle and Ned walking in front of them.

"That's not how my senses work Maria, they act up when they sense danger," Peter said rolling his eyes as the girl jokingly bumped his shoulder.

"Sounds like they aren't working if me smacking you in the face isn't considered danger. Might have to actually be, dare I say, a normal boy for a day," Maria said gasping dramatically holding a hand to her mouth as Peter once again rolled his eyes.

"Actually, it's just that my body doesn't think of you as anymore dangerous than a warm breeze," Peter said smirking down at the blonde who stopped and glared up at him. Maria was about to retort a snarky comeback but was interrupted by Liz and Mr. Harrington.

"Hey everyone stick together," Liz called out as the group walked into the hotel. Maria and Peter found Ned and walked over to him.

"Hey, you brought your laptop, right?" Peter asked Ned as Maria looked around at all the people before putting on her sunglasses so she wouldn't be recognized. Shitty disguise but better than nothing.

"Why?" Ned asked as the two looked at each other. Maria was about to ask what they were planning when she was approached by Michelle leaving Ned and Peter to walk away quickly.

"Hey, wanna share a room?" Michelle asked as the two followed the group to the check in counter.

"Ugh yes please I don't know anyone else here," Maria said relieved as she intertwined her and Michelle's arms laying her head on her shoulder.
