Chapter 25: Is there something on my face?

The group had decided to hold the intervention if you will, at the Statue of Liberty. Peter thought it would be the most secluded place to hold it, away from civilians. The only thing left to do was figure out how they were going to get the villains to the Statue of Liberty without actually going to the.

"What if you go on the news and try to gain their attention that way?" Michelle suggested to Peter after a moment of silence while they all tried to think.

"That could work," their Peter said considering the suggestion.

"I agree but with using such a public announcement, you are also drawing the attention of every news source that will try to get coverage of what will go down," Maria added in making the whole group agree.

"So then what should we do?" middle Peter asked looking around the group.

"I have an idea," Ned suggested as he drew attention to himself.

"What is it?" Michelle asked hesitantly already thinking of what Ned could have possibly thought of.

"Well, why doesn't Mj try contacting them, you know with her telepathy," Ned nodded towards Maria whose eyes widened at the suggestion.

"You have telepathy? So cool," middle Peter interrupted as the same time as Maria.

"Uh... I don't know I mean my power's aren't fully functioning right now. I barely have my intangibility working and well you saw what happened with my telekinesis..." Maria said trailing off as she starting playing with a piece of her hair nervously avoiding eye contact with the group.

"If you don't want to try that's okay Mj," Peter told her with a small smile in understanding.

"Yeah, it was just a suggestion," Ned told her also sporting a supportive smile.

"It's not that I don't want to try it's just that I don't think it will work, and I don't want to disappoint anyone when it doesn't," Maria confessed to the group who immediately started disagreeing.

"No, you wouldn't disappoint us," older Peter told her reassuringly.

"Yeah, never," her Peter said as he inter winded their hands together.

"Mj listen to me, you are a badass, boss bitch, and I think that if you really put your mind to it, literally, that this will work I know it will," Michelle said shaking her head confidently while looking at her friend who bit her lip nervously.

"You really think so?" Maria asked her nervously arching a questioning eyebrow towards her friend.

"I know so," Michelle said sending her a confident smirk.

"Okay, I can try," Maria said with a small smile as Michelle got in action and told everyone to give Maria space so she could concentrate.

"Wait do we really have to leave the room?" Ned asked in confusion.
