Chapter 26: Existential Crisis Stuff

Peter had been worried about letting Maria help them for the fight at the Statue of Liberty, but after getting reassurance from Maria, he was persuaded to let her help. Also, she made a point to tell him that she was now fighting with her powers which made it safer for her to be there after all. So, now the three Peter's and Maria were standing at the top of the Statue of Liberty with Maria standing near the other universal Peter's and her Peter sticking to the top of the Liberty head.

"Okay guys it could be any minute now," her Peter said looking around for any one of the villains to show up.

"Yep, almost done," older Peter said as he finished placing the last antidote for the villains on a web.

"You know, Max was, like, the sweetest guy ever before he fell into... a pool of electric eels," middle Peter told the rest of them as he stretched with one of the poles.

"That'll do it," older Peter answered, which made a snort come out of Maria's mouth as she stared off into the distance.

"Oh, there it goes," older Peter said as she was bending oddly trying to, what seemed to Maria, crack his back?

"You okay?" middle Peter asked him with a laugh.

"Oh, it's my back. It's kinda stiff from all the swinging, I guess," older Peter told him as he leaned back to stretch his back.

"Oh, yeah, no I got a middle back thing too," middle Peter said, nodding his head.

"Really?" older Peter asked.

"Probably because you're both almost senile," Maria teased as the two turned to give her a dirty look which she returned with a smile.

"Anyway, you want me to crack it?" middle Peter asked the older one.

"Yeah, yeah that'd be great," older Peter said as he got into position and the middle one came up behind him. The middle Peter then proceeded to shake older Peter until his back cracked.

"This is so going to my scrapbook," Maria said as she took a picture with her phone as the two Peter's looked over at her in annoyance. "Like Ned said, I'm making memories here, people."

"This is so cool. I've always wanted brothers," middle Peter said in amazement looking at older Peter.

"Would you be brother's though if technically you're the same person. Like wouldn't it be more like you cloned yourself?" Maria wondered out loud, but her comment went ignored.

"So you, like, make your own web fluid in your body?" middle Peter asked after a moment of silence.

"I'd rather not talk about this," older Peter told him, slightly offended.

"I don't mean to-" middle Peter began before being interrupted by older Peter again.

"Are you teasing me?" older Peter asked, turning to middle Peter.
