Chapter 24: Are you trying to blackmail me right now?
The Peter's were still working on their respective cures for the villains when Maria decided to speak to the other Peter's. They had both said they knew her respective counterpart that apparently, shared the same face as her. The other two Peter's were working at a lab table next to each other when they noticed Maria approaching them. The girl smiled at the two who had bright smiles in return for her.
"Hey boys, how are you doing over here?" Maria asked as she took a seat on one of the stools.
"Good, how are you doing Mj?" older Peter asked as he continued his work on his antidote.
"Considering we're about to go out and cure some villains, pretty good," Maria told them as she nodded her head.
"Did you want to ask something?" middle Peter asked, looking over at the girl who was now awkwardly sitting and watching them.
"Uh, yeah actually, so you both said you knew who I was earlier right?" Maria asked, looking between the two Peter's who nodded their heads. "That's so cool."
"Yeah, I saw your face on one of the big screens and was like woah? What is Mj doing here? And why does she look so young?" older Peter explained to her as Maria let out a small laugh.
"So in your world, I'm old like you?" Maria asked in curiosity.
"Ouch," older Peter said as he clutched a hand to his chest.
"Well, I didn't mean it like that, but let's face it, you're not exactly 17 again are you?" Maria teased the older man who laughed as he shook his head no.
"Yeah I guess you're right. But, yes you're my age in my world," older Peter told her.
"And you said earlier that you married your Mj?" Maria asked him.
"Yeah, we're going on 8 years now. It took a while, but we made it work," older Peter said with a small smile painting his face making Maria grin too.
"What about you?" Maria asked the other Peter as she turned to look at him.
"What about me?" older Peter asked her, laughing awkwardly as he looked away from her curious eyes.
"Am I dating you in your world? Cause if I am, that's like totally fate that all Peter Parker's and Mj's end up together don't you think?" Maria explained to the two as older Peter nodded his head in agreement.
"Uh, no... I haven't really dated anyone since... Gwen," middle Peter told her, going a little quiet when he mentioned his late girlfriend.
"Oh, sorry, I mean when you said you knew an Mj I just kinda assumed you two were like I don't know sort of together," Maria explained as she fiddled with her fingers in nervousness.
"No, uh, Mj and I have been friends since we were kids. We're still friends now. She's actually my only friend, but she really helped me after Gwen passed, so I really appreciate all she does for me," middle Peter told them as a smile made its way to his face.
