Chapter 9: I know you don't want to hear this

Maria had been ignoring Peter Parker for three days now. Peter had tried to approach her but she had none of it. After saving all of his friends in the Washington Monument, Peter had a long talk with Maria on the bus ride home where he told her everything that he had been hiding from her and what led to the fiasco that was the accident at the Washington Monument. Maria was so angry with Peter she didn't talk to him the whole time that he was explaining himself and just got up and sat with Michelle the rest of the ride home.

It's not like Peter had not tried talking to her. Oh no, Peter had been blowing up her phone since that day but Maria had just placed him on do not disturb and called it a day.

Maria was currently in her room looking at job applications which she is proud of saying she already completed two of them. Maria was interrupted though when there was a knock on her bedroom window which made her confused since Happy's apartment was in like the 30th floor.

Maria looked at her clock on her laptop and saw that it was 8 P.M. Who would be at Maria's window on the 30th floor at 8 P.M.? Maria slowly stood from her bed and backed away from her window before using her powers to open the curtain, ready to attack, but stopped short when she saw who was outside her window.

"Peter you idiot! What are you doing here? And what the fuck are you wearing?" Maria shouted angrily pulling her window open to let Peter in so he wouldn't fall to his death although Maria doubted it was possible. Maria also noticed Peter standing in his boxers with an "I Survived My Trip To NYC" shirt.

"Maria I know you are super angry with me but I had nobody to talk to and I thought you would be the best option," Peter told her his voice cracking as he looked at her with tears in his eyes. Maria was hesitant but decided not to be angry since Peter already looked defeated enough.

"Fine. Okay, sit down on my bed while I go get you some water okay," Maria told him leading him to the edge of her bed to sit as she walked to the kitchen to get him a glass of water. Happy wasn't home at the moment so she didn't have to hide the fact that Peter was here which is good because she had a feeling whatever happened with Peter had to do with her dad.

"Here drink some water," Maria told him as she handed him the glass of water and took a seat next to Peter who was taking small sips from the glass. "Now tell me what happened."

And Peter did. He told her about the ferry and trying to find the bad guys but how it all went wrong and the boat split in half. How in the end he tried to keep it from splitting but her dad came to the rescue and put it back together. Finally, how he had an argument with her dad that ended with him taking Peter's suit away. By the end Peter was crying and Maria had pulled Peter into a hug knowing he was hurting in this moment.

Peter wrapped his arms around her waist with his head laying on her chest while Maria rubbed his back in circular motions putting her head on top of his. Peter's sobs were slowing and his breathing started getting back to normal so Maria decided to speak up.
