Chapter 27: Strange?
Maria had decided since all she was working with was her intangibility and telepathy at the moment, she hadn't tried out her telekinesis yet she was scared okay, that it would be better if she just kept herself out of the way. The best way she knew how would be to help out Michelle and Ned since she noticed they hadn't closed the portal yet.
"What is going on over here? Why haven't you closed the portal?" Maria asked as she made her way over to her two friends.
"Ned can't seem to figure it out," Michelle said with a roll of her eyes as Ned glared at her in frustration.
"I'm trying to close it. I can't help that it's not working," Ned told her in annoyance as he tried to close it again.
"Okay Ned, maybe it's not working because you're frustrated. How about you relax and try again," Maria said, calming down the two angry teens as Ned tried to focus again and shut the portal.
"Yeah, we'll keep trying," Michelle said this time more calmly than she had earlier.
"All right, we got this, we got this," Ned said as he tried one more time to close the portal but once again failed to do so.
"Focus and close the portal," Michelle said with a hint of frustration making it's way to her face again when Ned failed to close it.
"See there you go again," Ned whined out looking at Michelle in anger.
"I just don't want to die at the hands of a bunch of villains," Michelle explained in frustration as she and Ned began to argue once more.
"Okay you two stop it this is not helping right now," Maria tried to scold her two friends who ignored her and continued arguing with one another.
"This wouldn't have happened if you didn't say you knew how to do magic," Maria rolled her eyes at Michelle's response not wanting to be in between the two bickering. Maria was about to interrupt once more but stopped as she looked out the portal to see the lizard coming their way.
"Uh, guys, the lizard is coming!" Maria screamed out and interrupted the two bickering teens in front of her as they both turned to look out the portal and saw the lizard running to them.
"We should go!" Michelle screamed as Maria and Ned agreed, nodding their heads quickly as they tried to run to the door.
"Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!" Maria yelled as she had Ned and Michelle running in front of her knowing that if it came down to it, she would be the only one that could fight the lizard. The three tried to make it to the door but the lizard was right behind them making it difficult to lose it. The teens ran around the room as the lizard destroyed everything in its path trying to get to them.
"Run!" Maria heard behind her as the lizard was shoved into the wall of the lab. The three turned to see their Peter had hit the lizard to give them enough time to run out of the portal which was the only way to keep the lizard from getting the magic box.
